Light waves, quiet and peaceful. Away from the touristy beachs, especially the chinese! Lotsa picturesque spots and rocks. Best to go during low season!

This beach is actually very small and a bit away from busy area. Suggest that you rent a bike so that you can visit a few places nearby as well. Check your belonging well. Don’t leave your bag unattended.

Less crowded than many and slightly difficult to get to via foot unless you are staying nearby. We visited via Scooter at high tide and it really did have a lovely outlook and was quite sheltered. Plenty of shade near the beach and well worth a visit.

Great beach to chill out, snorkel and even shore dive from. Be careful if it is choppy though as there are a lot of underwater rocks.

Ya Nui Beach

Rawai
Ya Nui is tucked away at the foot of a hill on the steep road between Nai Harn and Promthep Cape. We cycled there ... or rather, some of us cycled. The rest of us found the hills too challenging and pushed our bikes uphill in the searing heat. Reaching Ya Nui provided blessed relief. It is a very quiet, pretty place, undeveloped except for a roadside restaurant. There is an outcrop of rock jutting into the sea which is fun to climb, and the views are spectacular. I imagine in the summer it must be possible to swim or cycle out to the nearby island. Ya Nui was annihilated during the 2004 Tsunami and there are several memorials to the victims on the rocks above the beach. We found a moving poem online which was written by one of the survivors. It gave us pause for thought as we enjoyed a drink in the shady bar.
