Great hotel with some of the best food I have had in Tanzania. The rooms are incredibly well appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazingly generous and they even gave me a packed breakfast the day I left before 6am which was very generous.

Great setting, good pool, very reasonable evening meal prices and outstanding local food.

Room Tip: Ask for pool-facing room

My stay at Kibo has been a very pleasant surprise. It was a mix of business and taking it easy. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms equally comfortable. The Wi-Fi is very good and rarely fails. But the most commendable feature of this hotel has been the cuisine especially from their Menu at the main restaurant and the breakfast. The food is of an amazing quality and consistency. The home made Mushroom soup was divine as were the different Biriyani dishes. Beautifully served and they hit the spot. What I would recommend they work on are the coffees. With some good Barista training maybe in Nairobi Kenya, they could have quite the pairing as they already have very good desserts. The cost per room is admittedly a bit high but they do make up for it with excellent service.

We spent 2 nights at the Kibo Palace Hotel before starting our safari. The hotel is walking distance from the Arusha clock tower. The landscaping around the pool provides a tranquil place to relax, drink and eat. The main restaurant and pool bar are in this area.

Good points:
Beautiful building and lobby
Well appointed rooms. The rooms and ensuite washrooms are very spacious
Good unlimited internet
Comfortable beds
Excellent service; the staff are awesome
Good breakfast buffet

The do betters:
When we arrived at 4am after travelling 24 hours we had to wait for over a hour for water cool enough to wash or bathe in. There was only scalding hot water in the taps. Even once the plumbing issues were fixed the hot water was scalding so watch out especially if you are travelling with small children
Check charges as we were not given the happy hour discount. This was quickly corrected when we raised it with the front desk the next day.
The stews and the curries in the restaurant were excellent but the meats and seafood that were grilled were over cooked and dry. A la carte was much better than the dinner buffet
Rooms facing the road can be noisy due to the sound of traffic and barking dogs
Noisy air conditioning system
For about an hour the washroom smelt like a sewer. We came into the room @nd had to leave as the smell was disgusting. An hour later it was fine.

Room Tip: Higher floor facing the pool ar3 probably quieter
