Great hotel close to amenities, town centre, restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly and professional.Room was excellent with a view of Mount Meru. Would recommend this hotel to every one. I stayed 2 weeks whilst working as a volunteer adviser.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times and what is unfortunate is that the rooms, while generally very decent, are inconsistent. Some rooms are perfectly appointed with everything working yet others have windows that won't close and bathtub showers that are very awkward to get into.

On the bright side, the food in the restaurant is good and there is some variety to choose from. Staff are also decently friendly.

A group of friends and I stayed a night before our Kilimanjaro hike in late September 2016.

This hotel is probably the swankiest in town so beware of the touts hanging around the outside of the hotel. We had two follow us from the hotel to an eatery down the road where they waited until we were done and persisted in trying to engage with us under the guise of being helpful and practicing their English. They followed us to the mobile phone store, to the markets and around town and offered unsolicited advice and anecdotes about town and their lives as struggling artists. As we made our way back to our hotel, we were invited to have a look at their (overpriced) paintings and then demanded a payment for following us around town that afternoon. Needless to say, we made a hasty retreat back into the hotel where the security staff deterred anyone from following.

As for the rooms themselves, they were surprisingly spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was clean and modern and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. We had a buffet dinner and breakfast included in the price. The buffet was small but had enough choices at dinner and breakfast so suit most people. It was a combination of international and local dishes which was nice.

We didn't have much to do with the staff, but check in and checkout was smooth and although it took a while for the beers to arrive in the cafe, the waitress was friendly and eager.

Overall this was a great hotel in what is a fairly basic town. As mentioned before, it is probably the best hotel in the area so beware of the scammers who will approach you if you leave the premises.
