This is truly one of the nicest lodges I have ever stayed. The views are breathtaking, on the foothills of the mountain overlooking the Songoya Falls. Every room is an individual building with a private bathroom. The rooms are beautiful and well kept. One of the best parts are the meals cooked by the host Joyce! Each meal is a different local dish that never disipoints. Overall this is the best place to stay in Arusha.

Songota Falls Lodge is a beautiful place. I have stayed here on 5 occasions, every one of which was wonderful. Joyce, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating, and an amazing cook. The rooms are very comfortable (in a rustic kind of way). If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. The road is bumpy to get here, as are most roads off the main track in Tanzania, but the place is like a little oasis once you arrive. Rondavels are decorated in local fabrics. They are water-tight if it rains. The view is beautiful, and you can hike to the falls if it has not been raining. Every time I have been here it has rained recently, so unfortunately I have yet to get to the falls myself. It is a true pleasure to stay here. In fact, I am writing this review from the Songota Falls Lodge dining area overlook!

Joyce built this place through good, hard work after working in the restaurant and hotel business for many years. In addition to all of the wonderful things about being here, it is nice to support a local woman's business!

We were staying for 3 nights at the Songota Falls Lodge and enjoyed it a lot!
Joyce has built up a paradise close to Arusha so if you want to organize tours or Safaris in Arusha but also want to relax and stay in the nature it’s the perfect place.
The whole area and the small pavilions are lovely decorated but the highlight is the open dining room with an incredible view!
Joyce welcomed us with a glass of homemade juice, prepared a great breakfast, cooked a fantastic dinner on request (best banana-soup of all times!) and was reliable and really helpful with everything (special requests, Safari organization, shuttle services, tour to the sangota waterfalls, she even organized a contact in Dar to help us with our further trip...) that we would definitely come back again!

I travel to Arusha often for work and have enjoyed staying at this quant and quiet place. It's very clean and Joyce is a terrific hostess. It's a little hard to get to when it rains, but worth it. Very good value.

We had an amazing two nights stay. Our host went extra mile to make sure we feel comfortable and even cooked "Chapati" for my girlfriend to try. We enjoyed all our meals. By the way the mountain views, nearby village and river around the lodge made our experience better in Tanzania.
If you want to feel and taste Africa then this is a place and our room was very clean. We will never forget our experience and stay at Songota Lodge because of the staff. We appreciate you for everything. Already planning to stay here again when I come to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in few years. Thank you and all the best. Erick & Ashley
