A lovely relaxing place to stay in the rice paddies outside of Ubud. Helpful staff and convenient minibus transport to town.

We had stayed a few years before and what had previously been outdoor showers had now been enclosed more in line with Western tastes. We took electric insect repellents but the netting over the big bed made this probably unnecessary.

The aircon worked well and the pool was great.

Room Tip: Get upstairs room overlooking pool

I stayed at Bhanuswari for 4 nights. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery and is quiet. The room was spacious and quite comfortable. The rooms are supposed to have wi-fi but I found it very slow. The best place to access it was in the lobby area. I enjoyed the pool and took a few meals at the restaurant which is rather good. The resort is located quite a distance from Ubud and if you do not have transportation you are dependent on the resort staff to take you into town, which is fine. However, pick up took a while--I usually waited for an hour, but at least this service is provided. There are bicyles to rent and it's possible to explore the area more with these. The staff were very kind and accomodating.
For solo travelers who want to see more of the area it might be better to stay in town where the tours originate. The resort has drivers who will take you places (for a price) but I doubt they have the expertise of a tour guide. Great place to hang out for a bit of R & R.

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor might have better wifi service but I enjoyed the view from the 2nd floor.

We stayed at Bhanuswari last December for five nights while visiting Ubud. Our first impressions were that the staff were all so friendly, the restaurant had a good variety of delicious, reasonably priced dishes (and freshly made fruit juice) and the room was very clean and comfortable.

This impression lasted the whole five days, and with its unique location among rice fields and the rainforest, my partner and I enjoyed the tranquility and carefree environment that both pools and restaurant in particular offered us. Our driver was happy to drop us off in Ubud (around 15 minutes drive away) and pick us up again, on a daily basis.

We stayed in a Deluxe room, which gave us plenty of space and a nice balcony to soak up the unique natural setting of this resort.

Waking up at dawn, especially on a clear day, is so peaceful and together with the evenings spent here, there is definitely a magic about Bhanuswari Resort & Spa. Be sure to book Spa treatments and massages at least half a day in advance, because the ladies at the Spa often commute from home if it is not a busy day.

We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Bali.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms have a king bed and a few of them are located on the first floor (ground level being the ground floor below)

I stayed here with a large group in November. The resort is tucked away in the rice fields, outside of Ubud, close to a small village. The grounds of the resort are beautiful, and well maintained, with lots of flowering trees. The pools were very nice as well, and we spent a lot of time in them. The staff were very friendly, and took care of everything we needed. We stayed in the large rooms close to the pool further from the main office - the rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was huge with a nice bath. The food was quite good - though, after 10 days, we needed to mix it up a bit and go eat in Ubud. I think we tried everything on the menu. The juices were amazing...especially the banana. The free shuttle to Ubud was very convenient, and we also hired a car to visit the botanical gardens and treetop adventures a few hours north. Overall, a great stay - I would definitely go back.

Definitely going back to Bhanuswari when next holiday at Ubud! Location is perfect, middle the rice fields. Very relaxing and peaceful! Some 15-20 min drive to center of Ubud and transportation complimentary by Bhanuswari. Staff is super friendly and always there if needed.

Room Tip: Our room were front of Pool 2, highly recommended.
