Stayed in June 2018 as part of a two week trip to Bali and Lombok. Summary below:

- There are no charger sockets next to the beds;
- The private pools are not really that private, people can look in through the reeds when walking past;
- Happy hour - is buy two get one free, why not just do buy one get one free?;
- Some receptionists just say “yes?” (Yoga) When you approach them at the desk. Nothing completely wrong with that just not overly friendly like we had been accustomed to in other hotels;
- Tried to charge us 897k rupiah for taxi to Nusa Dua. When I said it was too much to pay they then organised a taxi to collect us where we had to pay the driver direct, and this was 600k rupiah. Still a lot for the journey but didn’t feel like we were getting ripped off quite so much;
- Hotel and grounds feel very old and tired. It is not as homely and comforting as we had hoped it would be;
- Hourly Shuttle service to ubud needs a re-think. It states on the hour but doesn’t leave until 5 mins past. Not major but they said they need to wait for guests but then if guests arrive at 5 past and they miss the shuttle then it is their fault;
- The drop off place in the centre is pretty much the busiest spot in the whole town. Why not park in a side street just before the main bit so it is easier to drop and pick up? It makes it very confusing and the journeys take longer. The udaya hotel do this very well. There needs to be a booking mechanism for the return shuttles. One evening we arrived at the pick up point 20 minutes early and were the first ones there. When the van arrived many other couples loaded on the van before us (there is no queuing mechanism) and we were then unable to get on. We subsequently had to wait for another vehicle to come and collect us. The udaya hotel operates a booking system so there is no such issue.
- The most confusing lights system - about 20 switches and it takes an age to turn all lights off.

If you are looking for an excellent standard hotel in ubud then you should try udaya which is so far above this place in almost every way.

On a more positive side, most of the staff are friendly and greet you when walking past. A tip to the manager would be not to put people at the front desk who don’t go out of their way to be friendly.

Looking at other reviews it seems we may have been unlucky in some respects, but saying that you cannot change the decor and facilities so I am a bit mystified.

I recently had the privilege of staying here for 1 week as part of an organized group retreat. Everything about this hotel is absolutely wonderful.
The staff are amazing and extremely helpful and will go out of their way to assist.
The hotel surrounds are beautiful and peaceful and its easy to just sit back and take in the beautiful scenery whilst relaxing by the pools or sitting on your own private deck overlooking the rice paddies.
The meals are absolutely delicious.
The location to Ubud centre is great - you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle but can easily access a free shuttle from the hotel on a regular basis and its only about a 10 minute drive.
I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be returning.
Thankyou to all the wonderful staff for everything you did for our group during out stay.

For my first ever trip to Bali, I booked various places to stay in order to mix things up and get a different sense of the area and the locals. After staying at Wapa di Ume my first 3 nights, I checked into an AirBnB that unfortunately did not meet my expectations. I turned right back around and returned to Wapa di Ume for another 2 nights! :)

While modest from the outside upon arrival, it gets more and more lovely as you enter inside. The grounds are lush and peaceful, including rice fields on premise and a lush jungle with a stream running deep beneath it all as you get deeper into the property. The customer service from everyone (airport shuttle, front desk, grounds upkeep, room service, restaurant) was top-notch. The rooms are lovely. My first 3 nights I was in a Lanai Terrace jungle-view room and it was beautiful. The jungle view from the bathtub was stunning. My second 2 nights I was in a smaller pool villa room and my only comment is that I wish the entrance was a bit more lush to make for more privacy when sunbathing. Showers were enjoyable and the room temperature was perfect due to how well their A/C units work. The rooms were very clean and sleeping was very comfortable.

Their breakfasts were great, with the selection of fresh fruit juices changing daily. While the comfort of room service for breakfast is tempting, I highly recommend going to the restaurant and dining al-fresco. So lovely to have their very delicious coffee while overlooking the rice paddy field and other lovely views there.

I did also go to the spa while I was there. I did not care for the massage but I enjoyed the facial. Also, a helpful note: If you want to have a flower bath set up in your room, they need at least a day of notice. They use an outside vendor to bring them all the flowers.

The one drawback of sorts is that it's in a location where you'll want/need to hire a driver to go anywhere (unless you decide to rent your own scooter, which I personally would not opt to do because they drive CRAZY over there). It's very easy to get a driver and American money goes very far - but obviously not as convenient if you'd like to be somewhere that everything is walking distance and just steps from your door. If you have not yet found your own driver, the front desk will call a service that will bring you one - and it's up to you if you like that driver enough to continue using him throughout your trip. A helpful tip for travelers is that the typical "going rate" for a driver in Ubud and surrounding areas is 300,000 IDR (about $21 USD) for a half day (4 hours) and 600,000 IDR (about $42 USD) for a full 8 hour day.

All in all, I had an absolutely wonderful stay there and would definitely go back again. Highly recommend it to others looking for a lovely place to stay in Ubud (without forking out 2 or 3 times as much to stay in places like the Four Seasons or the Viceroy.) Thank you for a lovely vacation, Wapa di Ume!

I stayed at this resort as part of an organized tour. It was perfect for our group . The yoga room was sublime. The water features, gardens and terraces are so beautiful. The pools are also very tasteful. Everything about this resort sits very comfortably within the very beautiful hills and valleys of this part of Bali.
This resort would be a challenge to people with mobility issues as there are steps every where - even internal steps within the rooms - however our yoga group were well able to manage.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Arica who was assigned to look after our group had the most amazing memory for all our names and meal orders.
I would definitely recommend this resort.

We spent two nights at Wapa di Ume Ubud and were really sorry that we didn’t have time to extend it for a few more nights. Firstly the most kind staff showed us the area and we were impressed about the rice terraces just beside the resort. Their rooms are very huge and quiet, private pools are amazing and the tubs in the room as well!

While your stay you have to take a dip at their amazing infinity pool and try delicious restaurant beside it!

Overall, beyond excellent experience.

Really hope we will come back to Bali soon visit this Resort again!
