The room was nice, with a separate bath and shower. The room were cleaned reasonable. Breakfast was not very good. Often there was not enough bread, we asked for brown bread, but unfortunately we did not get it in the 15 days we where here. Fruit was simple. You have to walk a long distance to the center. No free taxi service is offered. The hotel has two parts, we stayed in the area that is not close to the reception and restaurant. For breakfast we had to walk through the rice fields, a little bit forest and the other part of the hotel. Or you can walk along the main road. We thought it was a nice hotel, but will not book again

Dear DroomDecor,

We do appreciate you valuable time writing us a review here on TA.

We liked to hear all the pros and thank you for bringing up the cons. However, we would like to clarify few things as follow:
1. Brown bread - the bread is not the most wanted so we prepared a reasonable amount by looking the hotel occupancy in order to avoid wastage. I personally go around in the restaurant for checking guest satisfaction but we I never had any chance to meet you for this; so pity.
2. Walk to the center - well, we do provide the guest with free shuttle services; three times a day that everyone should take it as privilege.
3. Two locations - yes, we are located in two different locations and there area about five blocks in between if you go through the main road. In the future you should request for the room that is located in the main building.

Last but not least, please accept our apology for the inconvenient caused. We are here to listen to every feedback and make some improvement along the way.

Have a wonderful day and look forward to get another chance to create a memorable stay for you.

Warmest regards,
Komang Swesen

I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and we booked the honeymoon package that included a nicely decorated room, a romantic 4-course dinner (the food wasn't that great though) and an hour-long massage in a spa. The spa was nice and the massage was enjoyable. The room was nice and tidy, but the towels and bedsheets seems a bit warn-out. The buffet breakfast was plenty and the food was always fresh. The location is a bit out of the way but the grounds are beautiful.

Dear Adrienn S,

Thank you so much for the sort-and-clear words about your recent stay with us at Ananda Ubud.

We note down your saying about our food that was not great enough. We wish to improve this part as we are going to have new chef within next week.

On the other hand, we are on transition from warn-out sheet to fresh one that hopefully completed soon. Thanks for praising our breakfast option and take the privilege of being out of the hustle and bustle Ubud hectic but still reachable within 10 minutes times.

Have a great day and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future!

Warmest regards,
Komang Swesen

Each villa is a 2 story unit. Stayed in upper floor unit. Has storage closet for luggage and clothes with a very small in room refrigerator. Bathroom with shower/tub combo. Bed was a king size with mattress (firm) on a wood platform with mosquito netting (which we did not need to use when we were there in May). Small desk, sofa and chair. Balcony leading out from room. A/C unit in room which was not working at correct level when we first arrived but upon asking at front desk, whatever adjustment they made, it worked great. Need good A/C if you want to be able to take a break from the heat & humidity of Bali and be able to sleep at night! Has 2 pools on property, a smaller infinity pool that was right below our unit and a larger pool a short walk across the property grounds. 3 yoga studio rooms with one having a view of rice terraces and mountains in distance. Property has several rice paddies. When we first arrived they were just pools of mud and water but we watched the 2nd day, 2 workers planting rice plants in a fascinating efficient method and planted all 3 large pool areas in 1 1/2 days! transformed it into green rice paddies. Excellent service and a very good breakfast buffet each morning in restaurant/bar area. It is not walking distance into "downtown" Ubud, but easily accessible via scooter or taxi driver which were always available right out front and about a 10-15 minute ride into town center. There are a few restaurants within walking distance (Indus, Elephant, et al) and shops. A good rate money exchange place about 200 feet up the road when you turn left out of front of Ananda that is well lit, open long hours and is safe with an excellent exchange rate and is very convenient. Recommend these accommodations.

Room Tip: The back units are close to pools. The upper units are quieter with better views of property grounds.

Dear timandkerry,

Thank you very much for taking time reviewing us here on TA.

You have set your words in magazine-type-review that described almost everything our future guests have to know in advance. The most important thing is that you're enjoyed the whole part of Ananda from the bathroom to rice paddy. Your recommendation is highly appreciated.

Have a good day and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future!

Warmest regards,
Komang Swesen

Walking amongst the rice fields, finding a private pool, a lotus pond, a smiling flower bearing employee honoring the gods throughout the land, doing yoga while the crickets chirped. A wondrous place in a magical land.

We loved our 3 day stay at Ananda Cottages. Beautiful room, excellent service and not too far from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Set in the middle of a rice paddy field, it is quiet and genuine. The pool is a nice bonus and the staff are friendly.
