“Exceptionally beautiful & tranquil with the warmest welcome in Bali!”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Villa Sekala was the setting for our best holiday ever, and I cannot recommend the villa highly enough. Shelley the owner was warm, friendly and helpful from the outset and on arrival at the amazing villa, greeted by Komang's smile, we all felt instantly relaxed (even after a long flight!).
The villa itself is exquisitely decorated, spacious and well appointed with the most magical garden and vast outdoor living space. It is even more breathtaking than in the photos!
Villa Sekala is located down a quiet lane, just minutes from the beach. Komang arranged bike hire for us which we used daily to explore the whole of Sanur. Nyoman the dependable, friendly & informative driver took us on several trips further afield. What really sets this villa apart from others is the amazing warmth, friendliness and attentiveness of Komang and her delightful family.Nothing was ever too much trouble and it was a pleasure getting to know them. We really miss them all!
The daily breakfasts were delicious and Komang also prepared several amazing feasts for us which we all voted the best meals in Sanur! Komang, Komang, little Sam & Bobby & Debbi the dogs made this an unforgettable holiday and we hope to return as soon as possible.

I can't begin to say how happy we are to hear how much you enjoyed the stay. I just spoke to Komang who says she misses you very much. So.. a return visit, please! I know it's not a hop-skip-and-jump but I do so hope when you plan the next trip you come and stay at Villa Sekala. And that your stories and memories of the trip keep you warm warm warm in the UK winter.... Best wishes, Shelley and the Villa Sekala team.

“pampered Home away from Home”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

From the initial pre-booking contact till well after finishing our stay, the helpfulness and friendliness is second to none and makes you feel truly welcome. All requests we made were quickly answered and Shelley and her team went out of her way to help in every way. The property is an oasis of calm with a lovely garden with exotic fruit trees, our kids loved picking star fruit for breakfast. It was great being able to sit in the open loving room and watch the kids play in the garden. There are many quirky art works that light up at night and give a lovely atmosphere. The pool is a good size, lovely and clean with a shallow end our youngest kids could stand in. The house is all on one level so no worries with stairs. Komang was a joy and looked after us so well. Her breakfasts are delicious and we even tried her home baked bread! She was always on hand to help with cars and transport. The transport company we used had excellent cars and a careful and helpful driver. Beach and main shopping restaurants are within an easy and quick walk or a cheap taxi ride away. After we left Komang went out of her way to continue helping us after we forgot an item at the villa.
A lovely relaxing time for the whole family, will definitely be back :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. We do hope you CAN come again... it was a delight to be in contact and Komang and her family so liked meeting and hosting you. It's always lovely when guests really 'get' how special Villa Sekala is and have the time to enjoy its featuers... I'm thrilled you and your family were able to. Warm best, Shelley

“Bursting with Character”
Reviewed 29 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This was the second time I stayed at Villa Sakala with a group of friends. I just love the character and all the art throughout the complex. The rooms and living area are very spacious and coupled with the generously sized yard, there is always somewhere to get some quiet 'me time' from the group.
Komang once again took care of all our needs. She is so intuitive, taking our breakfast orders at just the perfect time. The breakfast she cooks each morning: just amazing- omelettes, eggs anyway, freshly prepared fruit, pancakes and toast. It is no wonder I put on a couple of kilos.

Hi Julie
First, thanks so much for coming back to us. I know how much Komang and family love looking after you.. .and the catering — what can I say, other than restraint is not part of the package (sorry!)... but joy is.. and the kilos will disappear (?) but those beautiful memories last and last and last.
See you again! Warm best, Shelley

“An oasis, perfect place to escape to after a day of exploring. We loved it here.”
Reviewed 31 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Well, this was my first time in Bali with my young family(6 and 3)
We decided to stay four days in the Sanur area. When we arrived we were blown away by the size of the villa. It's huge! It's beautiful and we straight away relaxed. There was only four of us, so we only used two rooms. This villa can easily accommodate small or bigger numbers.
Shelley, the owner, was always very helpful via emails before we arrived. The family who caretakers the villa are an absolute delight.
I would suggest to arrange scooters or bikes as it is a little out of the way of shops and restaurants if you walk but only 3 mins on a scooter!

“The perfect escape”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Friendly staff, tranquil gardens, luxurious appointments, the Villa Sekala has it all. At home in a soaking wet Sydney my family were coping torrential rains and driving winds were creating chaos, but it was easy to ignore the drama while relaxing in the pool or on the verandah of this gorgeous villa.

The location is far enough out of the main part of town to feel like a real retreat, while close enough to enjoy restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance.

I hope to return one day.

I'm so thrilled you had a lovely stay. I was in Sydney in those (god-awful) storms wishing... wishing I was in Bali. And.. the great thing is, Bali's not only good by comparison! I agree (of course); Viila Sekala's a piece of heaven in that part of paradise.. How lucky... I do hope you can return. I know you'd be more than welcome.
