Our second visit (first being 2017), simply wonderful. From check in to check out, personal and wonderful service by the Level Staff. The ladies in the Serento Restaurant took breakfast to a whole new level...sad to return to my weetbix in Oz. The staff at the Level pool were attentive without being obtrusive. A trip and experience to add to our wonderful memories of Bali which started in 1991. We would find it hard not to return to Melia for our next stay.

This has to be the most relaxing holiday we’ve ever had with our little children (5 and 4). All we did was relax and play in the pool, eat delicious food and sleep in comfy beds. The Melia Bali exceeded our expectations far and beyond.

The Food: after falling sick during previous visits to Bali I was cautious at first but the was no need. I ate everything on offer (which was throughout the whole stay excellent, delicious and super fresh) and had not one single problem. There are 5 different restaurants plus the pool bar. While parts of the menu are repeated throughout, the dishes look and taste different in all the restaurants. Best is possibly Sorrento, the Spanish restaurant, followed by Sateria and El Patio.
The prices are comparable with Australian prices, however, it didn’t bother us as we had booked all-inclusive. Otherwise we would have easily spent about AU$300-400/day!

The Hotel and Rooms: the hotel was build in the 80s and was renovated in the late 90s. I think they’ve started a second round of renovations. Our room was okay. It didn’t look too tired and was very clean. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade though. The shower in the bathtub is so low than someone taller than 1.8m with have to tuck in their head in order to shower standing up. We loved that our rooms were done no matter what time we left the room and the beds were quite comfortable. Lots of people complained about a musty smell but we didn’t experience that.
The family room doesn’t provide much privacy but that was okay with our small children. Might be a bit trickier with twen or teenager children. Maybe interconnecting rooms are better in that case.
The hotel and its grounds are great. Spacious, Balinese influences, elegant and very green. The pool is not massive and not very deep but again for us with little children it was ideal. The beach is nice and clean during high tide.
There is so much staff and everyone is incredibly friendly.

Kids Club & Entertainment: again, the quality and huge offer amazed us. Free adult fruit carving, cooking, (pool) excercise lessons and so much more. Huge offer for the kids as well from 9am-9pm, however, we saw more small than teenage children there. The carers were absolutely lovely and knew our children’s names after only one visit. There are regular open air family movie nights and marshmallow roasting at the beach every night.

To be honest, there are too many great things to mention, I could go on for hours. We’ll definitively be back.

Top for parents with teenagers: if your kids are getting bored, Club Med is a 10min walk away with offers archery, trapeze and many more activities for older children and you can book them in for about AU$42/day. On the other side of the hotel is a tiny water park with 3 slides and a wave machine where they can try surfing. It’s a bit tired but only AU$7-12/day. Plus the hotel offers free canoes, Kajaks and paddle boards. You can also book more exciting activities but there’s obviously a surcharge.

unbelievable resort, really A-grade quality and service with everything.

POSITIVES:
- close location to bali collections shopping area, only a 5 minute walk max. Close to many eateries, shopping centers and mini marts which is very convenient
- Rooms are impeccable, very clean and a lot of space. We had the family rooms (double story), which were amazing.
Many amazing activities such as futsal game, beach volley ball, Pilates, yoga, stretching, bali dancing, fruit carving and many more activities through out the day. They have a big timetable up around the pool area
- Pool area is quite nice, with a large pool which branches off and a lot of deck shares and seating ensuring that most people get a seat by the pool
- Food at the bar and restaurant around the pool was amazing (fairly priced at around 130,000-190,000 rupiah per main meal and 40,000 rupiah for juices (little more expensive for beers).
- Service was outstanding, the staff were very friendly and helped at any chance they could
- Breakfast had a very large variety, was impossible to try everything as there was so much food. Including cooked breakfast, noodles, egg dishes, egg station, soup station, toast station, shaved meet station, cold meats, soups, cereal, yogurts, deserts, fruit etc.
- the gym was outstanding, was like walking into a gym you pay for in Australia. Almost every machines and weights that you could think of and all brand new. Gym open good hours too from 8am till 10pm which was great. Free water bottles and towels given as well, awesome service.

NEGATIVE:
- showers too low, you have to duck when showering. Im only 5ft7, and i really struggled getting under the shower head. Water pressure is atrocious as well.
- pool table is a great idea to have around the bar, however hiding pool sticks and consistently leaving the broken snapped pool cues was not good. Staff hid the new pool cues and denied that they had any more, but eventually gave in to our many requests.
- the family room however did need an upgrade with new beds, as the beds that we slept on were very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs in your back, as the mattress was hold and had lost its firmness. Quite disappointing when you struggle to sleep

We absolutely loved everything about Melia Bali! This trip was our first time to Bali and we fell in love with both the people and culture. The staff at Melia really took the time to get to know us and remembered our names, room number, and drink/food preferences after only a couple days. It really made us feel at home. We got both the Level package, and the all-inclusive package which turned out to be a great idea! The Level is very worth it, if you don't have kids (some of the private Level places are kid free) and all-inclusive covered pretty much everything on every menu! If you're looking for a quiet place to relax with exceptional staff and facilities, Melia is the place for you!

Room Tip: Try out all the pillows on the pillow menu!

We spend the end of year at the hotel and had great expirience. It's a huge hotel from 80's, as well the decor , but still very clean, and comfy . The level rooms offer amazing breakfast on very quite separate area, as well beach acess and swiming pool exclusive area more quite in the massive size hotel. Complete Pillow menu also a great diference. The staff was very kind and prompt in all ours needs. Realy loved our stay! Recomend with kids, perfect family vacation!
