We had a wonderful time at Villa Leanna with two families and five young children (ages = 1.5,4,4,2,6). We enjoyed the privacy and beautiful sunsets each day from the pool and lounge and the variety of breakfast options on offer. The villa is isolated so there is ‘no walking out the front door’ and meandering around the shops or ducking into a cafe like Seminyak or Canggu. But that’s why visitors would choose this location over bustling Seminyak or Kuta. It’s much more peaceful and quiet. You need to be driven everywhere. Which was never a problem for Supeda who was always ready to drop or pick us up or offer suggestions. We wanted to take him back to Singapore with us.
Supeda and Kadek were excellent hosts and cooks and went above and beyond the call of duty to meet our expectations and needs to ensure we didn’t need to lift a finger during our stay. The pool fence was a very welcomed extra for safety, particularly with all our young children and baby. However the very steep staircase up to the first story wasn’t particularly child friendly even-though it had a child gate at the ground level. As in a previous review, we booked this villa for the well equipped children’s room however we hardly utilized it as it was not in the main house and was only accessible by walking out the back door and down some very steep stairs which was not safe for our 18 month old and two year to do. It would be much better located in the main house so parents could keep a watchful eye on them.
I have to agree with one of the previous reviews that the internet was very poor and connectivity was non-existent for long periods each day during our week long stay. This was frustrating as we were trying to arrange other accommodation with family who were arriving the following week.
The villa needs some maintenance work carried out to fix a few issues. The folding doors out to the pool were jammed in position and were very difficult to open and close ... it needed a very strong man to aggressively open and close it each day. This needs to be fixed asap. Also, the back kitchen door needs some shaving/maintenance as it required a lot of muscle to open and close also - this is probably due to the wooden door expanding and contracting due to the weather. The fans (particularly the one above the dining table) could do with being replaced as it was rusted. And the air conditioners need servicing.
But overall a very pleasant villa and holiday.
This was our 2nd visit to Villa Leana, house is amazing, great for a large family. Beautifully decorated and very spacious. We stayed with our 4 children, plus grand parents and another family with 2 children. We were all very comfortable and lots of room for everyone.
Pool is great and has a pool fence which is rare in Bali which was great for my 2 & 4 year old.
The staff are beautiful and make this house a great holiday destination. We woke up every morning to a beautifully made table with a great breakfast, fruit smoothies (different every day) cereal, fruit, bacon & eggs. Also indonesian breakfast served on different days, kids would have pancakes.
We also learned at our last visit what great cooks the staff are and prefer to stay home for dinner as it is always amazing. Also great price and very affordable, this was great for my kids as always very tired at the end of the day.
We went on many day trips from this area and hired motorbikes for our family to get to local surf spots each morning.
We will be back again and this is by far the best holiday home we have stayed and I think that is due to the beautiful staff they have at the house.
Can I start by saying that the description of the villa by the owners is spot on! Wonderfull views, excellent pool and beautifully furnished. But for me the Jewel in the crown for villa leana is the wonderful staff Supada and Kadek. They were very professional in every way looking after my family and the villa and also 2 of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. The breakfasts were a beautiful spread ranging from cearals, fresh smoothies and fruit to bacon and eggs! And the dinners that were cooked for us were ample and absolutely delicious!! The best chilli crab I have ever eaten. If your looking for a villa where you truely want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you.
A group of 5 of us stayed at the villa in May, 2017 and had a great experience! The villa is just like it looks in the pictures. The koi pond entrance provides for a fun and relaxing entry and the view from the pool is gorgeous (especially at dusk).
The location of the villa seemed to be south of most of our day trips. Bali isn't really "walkable" and the roads can get pretty congested. As a result, it can take quite a bit of time to get to your destination. That being said, the villa is in a pretty central location that allows you to go north or south easily.
Supada (the house manager) truly made our visit excellent. He is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and very willing to drive you to the best locations. He provided great tips and recommendations for our day trips and allowed us to have a truly memorable experience. The villa is great but Supada really made our trip the best experience!
I would highly recommend staying at Villa Leana if you want a beautiful, relaxing stay with great staff!
Villa Leana is incredible. The facilities are superb and the staff are brilliant. We had a fantastic stay here and didn't want to leave. The dinners cooked in house were to die for!! The only drawback for our group is the location. You just can't walk to anything and means we relied on being driven everywhere.
