This definitely made for one of the best days on the trip. The boat ride itself is quite fast and fun and because the boat only carries maybe 12 – 15 people max (not including the crew) it keeps the group small and less crowded, particularly when snorkelling. The boat trip cruises around the islands Lembongan, Ceningan and Pendia and stops at two snorkelling spots, both of which are decent and worth doing. The company provides snorkelling gear, towel and lunch for you (if you have specific dietary requirements they are really accommodating too). The lunch table they set out towards the back of the boat had lots of delicious options from grilled vegies and meat plus salads, bread, crackers and cheese. They also sell drinks, including Bintangs. We stopped for lunch on the boat in front of a seaweed farming village which wasn’t smelly or awkward to do on the small boat as I thought it might be. The mangroves on the other island opposite also made for a beautiful setting. After lunch we did a short tour of the seaweed farming village (about 15 min), the guide from the boat who took us was actually from the village which made the tour feel a little bit less invasive. The tour was also a great way of allowing time between eating and snorkelling at the next snorkelling location. The day ended with a 1.5 hour stop at the Hai Beach Club which is a white sanded beach resort and bar with outdoor facilities, including the pool and beach chairs/lounges that you are allowed access to.
