Visited Madurai for a family weekend and stayed at GRT Regency Madurai, found the place to be good. Rooms are fairly large, can sleep 3 ( with extra bed) . Bathrooms clean, with very good shower pressure and filtered and softened water. Room amenities Ok, towels and linen great and location too is good, easy to come in and drive out as you are just a few meters from the by pass road.
Only one complaint is highly overpriced food with average taste and very tiny portion of serving, they fail here totally !, in room dining is a disaster !! their breakfast buffet is good with a fairly good spread.
Wouod recommend the hotel BUT stay away from in room dining !

We recently stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a group of college friends for the reunion. Hotel staff were very attentive and helpful through out. Rooms and facilities are well maintained, except for the lobby area which seemed to be very hot. Thoroughly enjoyed delicious dinner and breakfast buffets during our stay, kudos to the staff of this hotel. Waiting staffs need training to attend tables promptly. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and will certainly visit again and recommend others.

Good room service and efficient Hotel. but found some issues like a very slippery shower stall (with no anti-skid mats) and a spa that closed for appointments at 7 pm - not very business traveler friendly.

Regency Madurai by GRT Hotels
Stayed at Regency Madurai for a night, as a stopover en route to Kanyakumari from Bangalore. The check in - check out process was very smooth and simple. The rooms are good, the bathroom was good too. I do think it is a bit overpriced for the amenities, could be about 1000/1500 lesser than what they charge.
