The city palace is realy beautyfull. I would like to see again. I had seen 10 years back with friends. Now this time i went with my wife.

Really enjoyed the visit here. Luxurious and welcoming , good coffee in the courtyard restaurant. Well signposted and able
To enjoy without the ever present guides.

I would have given it a 5 star only if the tickets were a little cheaper. It costs Rs 350 per person to go inside the palace museum which I think is a bit expensive. Otherwise the palace is one of the best royal houses I have visited in India. Very well maintained with some significant historical artefacts stored there. Has a nice restaurant inside the compound. It's quite big, so give yourself 2 to 3 hours at least to visit the palace. Wear comfortable footwear. Not advisable for people having knee problems as there are lot of very small sized staircases to climb.

I just friend one evening at Udaipur and I have found that the city palace was the best place to relax and enjoy the evening Sun sunset at this location is amazing the sun shimmering all along the lake

Fellow travellers note that there is absolutely no need to book any private tour for visiting the city palace. The information and ticketing counter provide sufficient information. Audio tours are very good. The museum visit is must. Visitors can even take the boat ride to lake pichola from here, however this is a pricier option though for visitors with less time on hand its perfect . The museum is very well maintained with excellent information on the history of Udaipur.
The restaurant options within city palace premises are also excellent. After having spend 2.5 lovely hours at the palace we ate at the restaurant at the Shiv Mahal Palace.
