Have recently had a short stay at Kairaba Villa. The villa is in a nice area set back a little from Kairaba Ave, close to the American embassy. The area is a business area and so u don't get hassled as much as you would in the tourist area such as Senegambia except maybe from the taxi drivers, who will always tout for business wherever you are.
There are lots of nice reasonably priced restaurants and plenty of supermarkets on Kairaba Ave. The Senegambia strip an beach areas are not too far away. All in all I enjoyed my stay at this Villa. I would recommend it and I would gladly stay again. Thanks to Yayah The property caretaker that also stays in the compound in a smaller building. He was helpful and also Thank you the the cleaning lady Mariana who came and cleaned every other day.
Nice friendly area to be the villa and the pool where great kids loved it nice restaurants near by and plenty of supermarkets and banks if needed and doesn't cost much to jump in a taxi to go explore surrounding areas will be back in the near future.
Very nice Holidays thanks to the villa and Yaya. The house is in a very nice and quite area. We are very close to all places to be and commodities. Gambians are so friendly.
Great place away from the beach strip in The Gambia but close enough to the real Gambia to be able to explore (the country is tiny anyway). The property has so much more space than you'd ever get in any hotel at a fraction of the cost and you have your own pool.
Not negatives, but made you remember it is Africa! There were ants near the kitchen so don't leave any food (especially fruit) out. I bought some from the market when walked up to Westfield Junction and thought I'd have fresh fruit for breakfast, should have put it into the fridge! in the morning found the ants had discovered it you live and learn . It was a bit of a pain to get electricity for the (at the time) pre-paid meter but made use of the on site generator, asked Yaya (on site secuirity guy) to get some fueld for it just in case... cost few pounds (GBP) only. Lovely little hole in the wall shop around the corner for fresh bread in the morning which cost what REAL Gambian's would pay not what the hotel cafe's charge tourists.
