We loved our stay at Semilla Verde. Wonderful accommodations, super yummy food, awesome service, and warm hosts. It is everything we had hoped for. The only downside is the hotel is in the highlands and so it is often misty and overcast (when we were there at least), but everything else was perfect.

A quiet and beautiful property with an incredible staff. As a mom, I’m always the one planning our trips, which often leads me to feel stressed on vacation. This time, I let Robert plan our tours, meals, and daily activities. Cattya, the manager looked out for us and ensured we always were well fed, knew our schedule, and she even picked up our ferry tickets in town for our transfer to San Cristobal. The tours Robert arranged were top notch and on large, comfortable boats. Our private tours were led by knowledgeable and engaging guides. The home cooked meals were delicious. My son was happy to see the “little spoon” at each dinner, because he knew “something sweet and delicious was coming at the end of the meal!” I can’t say enough...stay here. Room 9...like staying in a gorgeous tree house! Thank you Semilla Verde staff (and puppies and tortoises)!

We just returned from Galapagos vacation and had unforgettable time at Semilla Verde. It was a perfect stay in perfect location to explore nature wonders of Galapagos. Hotel is situated on beautiful grounds with wandering tortoises, rooms are huge and beautifully decorated, food delicious. But what makes this hotel really special is the manager Cattya. From the first greeting to last good bye, she took care of all our needs: daily trips to the various islands, taxies, free time, lost items etc. Everything was organized just perfect. Cattya knows each guest personally and makes everyone feel at home.
In years of travel all over the world, this stay was one of the best. If you plan the land-based Galapagos trip , look no further than Semilla Verde vacation package, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are great and equally big; room #9 occupies entire 3rd floor and is more quiet than adjacent rooms on second floor.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 5 days in May and it was just magical. The hotel is located not too far from the city in a secluded, beautiful and quiet land surrounded by nature. It is perfect for couples and for singles who just want to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, good food (especially breakfast), random roaming tortoises while being very close to the city. The management is specifically remarkable, from room service to private chauffeur and of course Catt who is just the most inspiring woman I met. She is the manager of the hotel who takes care of every need you have and makes you feel at home. She can even help you visit places on the island and book tours for you to other islands without you even batting an eye. She will do everything for you and make sure you don't miss your cruises or buses. Love love love Semilla Verde! it was truly magical it definitely made our experience of the entire trip a lot better!

Room Tip: all rooms are equally great! you even get a hammock to relax outside and sip some local juice fruit!

Our very first contact was by email with Robert. He was very prompt, informative and helpful with his replies, offering suggestions with the itinerary and room selection. The moment we stepped out of Baltra airport we were greeted by Juan who assisted us with our luggage, the bus and ferry ride across the channel and drove us to Semilla Verde. Cattya, the hotel manager, greeted us and gave a brief summary of the hotel and our itinerary. Cattya was fantastic at making sure every need and request was met. She was a great resource for information, gave us many useful tips and really took care of us well.
Our rooms, Finch wing 7 and 8, were perfect for our family of 4. The beds were comfortable, hot water was good, and air conditioning worked well. There is a room, safe, TV, and unlimited filtered water. The Wi-Fi is a little slow but adequate for emails. Our rooms had a connecting balcony that over looked the gardens where we spent our down time relaxing in the hammock.
There is a swimming pool, yoga room, and garden area with 2 resident tortoises.
The dining area is in the Finch wing. Our meals were wonderful. Even better than some of the restaurants we tried in town. There is a confidence bar where you can have drinks or snacks any time of the day. Just write down what you took and pay at the end of your stay.
It is a $7 taxi ride into Puerto Ayora and takes about 15 minutes. Coming back is easy. There are white pick-up taxis everywhere and the price is fixed at $7 - no meters.
The tour itinerary was perfect. Our guides were friendly and informative and the boat (Promesa) that took us on our excursions was very nice.
We really felt like we were at home, going into the bar area whenever we wanted, or sitting in the living room reading, or wandering through the grounds watching the fascinating tortoises. The distance from town did not affect our experience at all. Overall we had an excellent vacation at Semilla Verde and would highly recommend a land based stay here if you want to see wildlife without going on a cruise.
