Cheap, but still expensive for what they provide.

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 08 Jan 2018via mobile
I booked a room for a night there for 85,000 COP. Room had en suite bathroom and a TV, all good. Had to extend my stay a few nights, but they only had one room available for an extra night down the hall - this one was 55,000 COP, and had a private bathroom but it was separate to the room. This room was extremely hot and stuffy, and the Wi-Fi didn't reach this room at all - had to go down to the other end of the hallway every time to get a connection. Overall this place is okay for a night or two, but even though it's seemingly cheap there are cheaper places that offer the same/more. I had to extend my stay in Santa Marta for a third and final night but they were all booked out, so I went down to Hotel Las Vegas just the next street over and they were able to give me a room with an en suite bathroom and a TV, same as my first room at Cass Familia, for only 40,000 COP. Highly recommend that hostel over this one.

The owners of this place were very nice though, and helpful. Strangely though I wasn't given access to their laundry, I was directed to other laundromats outside instead.

We paid 60000 COP/night for a basic double bedroom a fan, bathroom, and outside facing window. The rooms were very small with barely enough room for our backpacks, the bed was very narrow for two people, the bathroom was cramped, and there were no hooks on the walls. Breakfast not included. Unsure of there is shared kitchen space.

The windows have no screens, nor is there a mosquito net, so beware of bugs and mosquitos getting in at night. There is also an opening above the door, so you'll be able to hear everything in the hallway.

No hot water in the shower, but you won't need it.

Super friendly and helpful staff and owners! Clean rooms, has laundry service, also thankful it was quiet at night for a good night's sleep:) Definitely value for money! Only downside is that wi-fi didn't reach inside the rooms but there are common areas instead where there is good signal.

We spent the Last two Nights there. The room ist okay, but during the night the wind was so loud and the windows very bad. The beds aren't so comfortable.
The kitchen is okay, a little bit dirty, but you need your own cuttery!
At the evening we didn't felt safety on the Street, so it is better to take a Taxi. And you have to know that theres a Bell on the right side next to the door (very high)- we didn't find It alone and got nervos to stand in the Night on the Street.
And you have to know that there are living some dogs (3 or more) and sometimes theres dog feces on the floor!!!

A very central hostel close to la Plaza Bolivar in Santa Marta. Small but clean room, TV was fine, friendly staff. The wifi was slow in the room but okay.
The terrace is great, big and with a hammock. Overall we had a good stay and the staff helped us to plan our way to Cartagena for the next day.

This is too expensive for the service they offer. The bed is thin, sheets too shorts...

We had a private bathroom, but for an hour when we arrived, no water! We had our hands full of soap but no more water...

The terrace in nice and it's well situated in that city.

The city itself if dull and there is not that much to do: beach and water dirty dirty dirty...

Go to taganga instead.
