Walking distance to all of the places I was interested in - old city and surroundings including San Felipe Castille. Simple with only 6 or 7 rooms. Mine was on the bottom floor away from the street. Good sized room with a nice bathroom. Small pool about 3 feet deep on the roof and I enjoyed that after a HOT sweaty day exploring. Breakfast was simple and nice, eggs cooked to order. Very polite and accommodating staff. Felt safe and comfortable. Really no downside. Perfect for solo traveler.

I had a wonderful stay at Posada, very comfortable and calm in the midst of the most vibrant and lively part of the city. The small pool on the roof was great for midday relaxation. Be advised that there may be some noise from the street, but that is the neighborhood. The staff at the other property, La Casa di Fe, was super helpful for recommendations and arranging bus rides. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: the rooms to the back are probably quieter

We have nothing but praise for this charming guesthouse. Set in the heart of lively Getsemaní, it’s in a quieter residential street where local people sit out in the evening playing cards and board games. Entering through the discreet doorway, quiet reigns within. It has 6 rooms, set in a courtyard, the best being 4 & 5 upstairs, which have the most light. The resident staff, Yolanda and Elsey, are friendly and helpful, preparing great breakfasts, ordering taxis etc. To arrange tours or deal with more complicated requests, they will call the (English-speaking) staff at their sister hotel in the walled town, Casa la Fe. Tours will pick you up from the Posada.

There are a couple if sitting areas, a small pool with two sun beds and a roof top deck where you can get a 360 degree view of Cartagena and watch the sunset. Opened a little over a year ago, this gem of a place is reasonably priced by Cartagena standards and excellent value.

We had the pleasure of staying at PLF for one night last week before a boat trip to one of the islands off Cartagena. It is quaint and clean and comfortable. The staff is what makes this property stand out-- so attentive and friendly, creating a homey atmosphere and providing excellent service.
During our previous days around Colombia, it was hard to get a good shower and Cartagena is quite humid. My girlfriend was having a "bad hair day" and asked Angelica if there was a salon nearby for a shampoo and blow dry. She said the closest one was in El Centro, We were fine with that. She returned a couple of minutes later and told us that the owner of the salon would be the hotel in an hour with a taxi that would take us into town.
The hotel is on a street that is too small for cars. Cab pickups and drop offs take place on the corners of the block. On departure, we asked Yolanda to call us a taxi to the marina. Not only did she call, she walked us to the corner and waited with us until our ride showed up.
Posada la Fe also serves an authentic Colombian breakfast that is made to order and delicious.
If you are looking for a value property with outstanding service, this would be a great choice in Getsemani.

The location is a reasonable walk from most of what you might want to see in Cartegena. The hotel staff is accommodating and just plain friendly. Cartegena is a warm and humid place. Though the A/C is turned off when you are away, our room was still comfortable when we returned after 5-6 hours of adventuring in the area.

Room Tip: We had a first floor room in this 3 floor hotel. I expect the 1st and 2nd floors are a bit cooler than the topmost.

Dear Randall,
Many thanks for your review and for your recent stay in Posada La Fe.
We appreciate the fact that you mentioned the area where Posada La Fe is located, well, it is not that luxury as the Historic center but it is great as you mentioned, with cafes, Restaurants and Bars all around. There are local families still living in this neighborhood called Getsemaní, but these families has been there for many years as their ancestors comes from the colonial era. Getsemaní is vivrant and safe, it is the area with the best prices in town and the point where the nightlife takes place.

We look forward to welcoming you in other visit to Cartagena.
Kind regards,

Adolfredis Reyes
