“Nice museum”

Hebei Provincial Museum
Attraction details

Government museums are free in China -- just remember to bring your passport because staff security will want to see it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit here. Since time was limited we chose to see only the ceramics. Lovely displays with English text and nice displays. We didn't have time to see more, but I'm sure the rest of the place was equally well-done. I'd recommend a visit here when in SJZ.

High-class museum on collections, especially the ground floor ‘Princess Tomb’. When visit China’s provincial city, it’s advisable to spend at least 2 hours to visit its own Provincial Museum.

The Museum is big and spectacular, with regular exhibitions of Heibei history nicely curated. There are displays of modern art as well. The large square in front of the museum also serves as playground for the locals in the evening. Reserve half day for a visit nest time you are in town.

I wanted to see ancient Chinese treasures.

There was a contemporary/traditional art display. I think the artist was chosen because of his connections. A lot of red and marching soldiers etc.

And on the other side, there were party posters from the 50’s and 60’s. Lots of smiling farmers.

The rest was either being painted or something. Couldn’t work it out.
