This place is a local fast food restaurant. Portions are absolutely huge though so if you're not so hungry share your dish or keep it for a day you are hungry. Good quality and great value, prices are extremely reasonable. If you are in Chile and still haven't tried a churrasco con palta sandwich go for it!

The food is great, and comes in huge portions. I would surely recommend it after a few days of hiking in Torres del Paine!

Look, I don’t want to criticise a restaurant that is obviously popular with the locals and that gives enormous servings for relatively little money (for a tourist town). And if you are one of the multitude of crazy people intending to walk for days in low temperatures (or have just done so) and need to take on a load of calories, then this is the place for you. However, if you like your food to be a bit more interesting than a mountain of fried sausage, potato, chicken, pork and other things, then maybe try one of the other restaurants in town. Oh, the chicken cesar salad was ok.

Let me preface this by saying that when by "affordable", I mean affordable by remote, tourist town standards.

Patagonia Food is a block away from the main square, Plaza de Armas.

The portions are humongous and delicious. I ordered a salmon plate and it came with a slab of salmon that felt like three-quarter pounder or more. It was topped with fries, caramelized onions and two fried eggs. It cost CLP 7800 which is cheap compared to other joints in town.

Only downside is that it is very oily. But other than that, it is a local family operation! Chileans dined there, so that is always a good sign in my opinion.

I ate here 3 times during my stay in Puerto Natales. A strong collection of typical Chilean meals. The portions are huge, and the prices are very reasonable. Nearly all the other diners were locals. I was always the only gringo.
