My family and I (five of us) booked to stay at Maos lovely little clean house and it was the best decision we ever made. He met us from the airport along with our tour guide Bunna and we immediately felt so welcome in their presence. Mao is such a kind, humble, generous man who looked after us more than he needed to. He took us to a local restaurant to try real Cambodian dishes and joined us to Angkor Wat. He dropped breakfast off for us so that we could sleep in. Bunna took us on a beautiful cycle ride through the rice paddies and to a floating fishing village which was such an amazing experience. When we went to catch our bus- Mao was there waiting for us with coffee and snacks and a kind goodbye. Our two days with Mao (and Bunna) were unforgettable and without a doubt the highlight of our entire trip in SE Asia. If you want to stay in the country, with cows in the garden and experience rural Cambodian life then this is the place for you. Not to mention having the pleasure of meeting Mao and hearing about his interesting life experiences. From reading his comment book in the house it is clear that everyone who has stayed at the Peace House have had unforgettable experiences too. Maos genuine kindness is really overwhelming. We cannot recommend staying here enough.
