“An outstanding location in which to stay if you visit Siem Reap, Cambodia!!!”

Thomas and his entire family were excellent hosts. They catered to all my needs including my special food regimen. Their homestay is in an excellent location. It is near many temples including Angkor Wat. In addition, Thomas provided great advice on what to see and do while in Siem Reap. I really, really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend others consider using Thomas' homestay if they plan to stay in Siem Reap. Thank you very much, Thomas and family for the great time I had staying with you.

Hi Al.
Greetings from Denmark, where we are enjoying our annual vacation while the rain is pouring down in Cambodia!
We all remember your stay with us (the last of the season), and only the other day our children were talking fondly about you. Anita was recalling how you took her on one of your numerous temple visits. We had many good laughs together :-) Say hello to the missus, and all the best from here. We open up Channa´s Angkor Homestay for a new season in September!

“Just like home - wish we could stay longer”

It felt like home. We stayed at Channa's for 4 days. I wanted to stay the entire week but the house was completely booked.

The house is located in the Angkor Archeological Park only 5 minutes on a tuk-tuk ride to/from Angkor Wat. It couldn't have been anymore convenient than that.

Since the house is in the park, aka the jungle surrounding Angkor, it is noticeably cooler than other parts of Siem Reap, thus offered a reprieve from the oppressive tropical heat and humidity.

From my bed, I watched the sky slowly lighten dawn approached and listened to the roosters' crowing, dogs barking and howling, gecko crying, lizard crackling and not a sound of modern "civilization". Bliss. I would love to wake up like that everyday for the rest of my life.

Channa and Thomas were most welcoming. Thomas made the most delicious bread for breakfast every morning and Channa's dinner was delicious.

I was truly sorry we had to move elsewhere to complete our stay in Siem Reap. I will definitely book with Channa's again if I go back to Angkor.

Thank you so much, we loved having you here! We are indeed in the middle of nature and thus surrounded by natural sounds. It is great to know that people appreciate this. And even though we are secluded here, we always have tuk tuks available, ready to take our guests anywhere on a short notice. This is still the cool season and the nights are refreshingly cool, although not as cool as Chicago, I suppose :-) All the best!

“Great stay!”

My husband and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Thomas, Channa, and their family were delightful to stay with. We were only there for three days and had a lot crammed into our stay, but it was so nice to have a warm and welcoming place to come home to each evening. Their home was very nice and our room was airy, light, and always clean.

Thomas helped us arrange a tuktuk driver since their home is too far from town to walk and it was great having Sochea nearby and available. He took us to the temples and to town and back and was so nice and helpful. We would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great place to stay that's off the beaten path.

Thank you for making our honeymoon a trip to remember!

Hello Dave.

Thank you for your review. You may not know it, but you were staying with us at the beginning of what has become a record high season for Channa's Angkor Homestay, where we have been almost constantly booked full for a solid four months period! Consequently we have just received a "Gold Top Vacation Rental 2013 award on FlipKey, putting you among a select few to be recognized for your exceptional reviews and impressive listings" - thanks to you, among others :-) You may look up the badge on our website www.angkor.dk.
So far the hot season has not hit us with full force yet. There are clearly fewer tourists in town, but we are still getting our fair share. Sochea has had a baby daughter (born on the same day as our Anton!). Everybody is well here.
We wish you all the best and hope that you get on with your lives back in Melbourne. Thank you for staying with us!

We highly regret this unfortunate incident, which happened in the middle of the high season, where everything went a little too fast here. We have been going through our second season in business with full bookings for four months in a row! Inquiries and bookings were at that time coming in from all directions - including from some new booking agencies that I had not yet fully synchronized with the others - and this caused a situation where we had to take our second Superior Homestay room in use to accommodate two couples at the same time. Unfortunately these guests responded negatively to our proposal of a discount of the room rate in return for sharing our only upstairs bathroom reserved for the Superior Homestay accommodation. We had hoped for a little more understanding from these "adventuresome retirees", as Channa's Angkor Homestay is indeed a genuine homestay, where we share our home, meals, and time with our guests.
