“Nice place to visit”

Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

Even on a rainy day, we had a very good perspective of the city, seeing the interesting mechanism of the clock and superb paintings on each floor.

The small door on the right leads you up, through a quite narrow passage, to the counter. The ticket is quite inexpensive, and the tower worth a visit!

While climbing up to the tower you will be able to learn some of the history of both Sibiu and the tower: some panels explain the details of the construction and the city.

There is an interesting piece of technology to see: the clock mechanism (from Switzerland) is still working and displayed behind a glass wall. You can see the ticking functioning and the movement transmitted to the clock hands.

From the top you can admire the view of the big square and the main church.

This was the first town hall of Hermanstadt. You get an interesting look from both sides. Walk thru the passageway and be greeted by a most interesting road ascending from the lower part of town. Check it all out you'll get some great views.

The tower is eye catching in the landscape of the city. To get a great arial view climb to the the top for 50 cents. It's a quick thing to do.
