Me, my husband and 8 year old daughter spent 6 nights here at the start of June. We wanted some time at the seaside but didn’t fancy Sunny Beach or Golden Sands so decided to stay in Varna. I chose this hotel because it was reasonable price and had a pool and wasn’t too far from town. The hotel is fairly small and I think probably family run. We had a maisonette on the 3rd floor which was lovely with a view of the pool and sea. The bedroom was upstairs and was cool and comfortable although lacking anywhere to put clothes, wasn’t a problem to me because I never normally bother to unpack my case. There was a kitchenette with microwave sink and kettle, no hob. There were no plates or cutlery or bowls but the lady on reception gave me some from the hotel kitchen when I went down and asked for some. Seems no point in having a sink and microwave if there is no crockery! The bathroom was clean and recently renovated, the air conditioning worked and the TV had English channels. A couple of times the shower ran a bit short of water, maybe a lot of people were taking showers. The WiFi worked some of the time. The room would benefit from some darker curtains to keep the light out. The swimming pool and garden area is pleasant and well maintained, the hotel is surrounded by other buildings which is not clear in promotional pictures of the hotel but no problem. The sea is a few hundred yards away down the hill but there is no beach there, go into Varna for the beach. The hotel is about 2 miles or so from the centre and is a pleasant walk through the sea garden, takes about 45 minutes. Buses run regularly along the main road and a single ticket is 1lev (50p). Taxis are plentiful and cheap. Varna is a lovely city with lots of nice places to eat, the beach is clean and monitored by lifeguards (the sea is quite rough with big waves and goes deep quite quickly) and the sea garden park is great for kids of primary school age. We had a very relaxing few days here, and would recommend hotel Alekta to families and couples. It’s not ideal for anyone with limited mobility because there is no lift and steps down to reception, also the pavement on the street outside is in a very poor state of repair. A good value hotel which we would stay at again.

The hotel is very modern, seems like it was renovated recently. Very very clean with friendly staff and very nice and comfortable rooms. Amazing view towards the sea and very nice breakfast included in the price.

Room Tip: rooms with sea view

What a great little hotel, there is a small but very nice swimming pool with sun terrace, with high quality loungers and chairs, the hotel itself is very clean and modern, there is a bar where you can buy beer and soft drinks. A short walk down the hill brings you onto Varna beach cost road, there are bars and places were you can fine all sorts of food, well worth a visit.

This is a small hotel with outdoor pool. looks like a family business, therefore the attention to details is high.
The hotel surroundings are very well kept, grass is like in poster pictures, pool very clean and maintained, same are the umbrellas. Pool goes from 80 cm to 1,40 depth.
if you look to hotel pictures in booking sites, you'll get the feeling of bigger outdoor space, which is not true. Neighboring buildings are near the fence.
Still, from 2nd floor up you are able to see the sea.
Breakfast is not with huge variety, but can suffice many people's morning appetite. Vegans maybe are an exception.
Personnel is very friendly and kind, their English is not Cambridge level, but they understand the basics.
Rooms are normal size and the furnishing is modern. We did not need the aircon, but seemed not working. Other stuff 100% functional.
What i would underline are the seagull meetings in the morning, on the neighbors rooftop. Can be quite a long meeting with debates, using high volume. May affect your sleep and cannot do much about it. But hey, we're on the seaside :-)
For those coming with a car, there is a number of parking places in the front of the hotel. If those not enough, there is a big parking 100 meters away.
Some restaurants are in the vicinity, with reasonable prices and good food.
Enjoy!

Room Tip: top floors are better.
