We spent two hours at the SPANS: the first hour we used the Turkish steam bath, the second hour we had a massage, so I'm going to split my review in 2 parts:
1) Relax area + Turkish bath + sauna
The place is rather small, but nice and clean. The relax area could be a bit warmer or they could provide free blankets. You get a bath robe and a smaller towel - for the sauna I would have needed another bigger towel, but I'm sure you could get it there, too - maybe for an extra charge. The steam bath was hot and perfect after the cold cold Serbian winter day outside. Unfortunately the sauna wasn't working - they informed us at the entrance, but at the end we had to pay as if the sauna was working. Compared to German pricing that's not dramatic, but not really fair, either - I expected a certain goodwill from their side as their technical sauna problem was not our fault. However.
2) The massage
For me the world is usually rather too cold than too warm, so both the massage room and the hands of the masseuse could have been warmer, I sometimes had goose bumps in those 60 minutes. The massage itself was perfect, but painful :D We had a 60 min mixed massage (we combined svedish and sport massage) and she was a true expert in finding the right trigger spots on my back. For really tight muscles this hurts of course, but it makes you feel better afterwards. For those who prefer soft massages they have relax versions, too, no worries! My muscles hurt afterwards for the next two days as if I had been for the gym for hours, but I expected this to happen... :)
My recommendation: they charge the use of the relax area per hour, so when I go there again I would split my time there: 30 min. relax area, 60 min. massage, 30 min. relax area so that your muscles can recover in the hot sauna afterwards.
So my review is as follows:
- relax area: 3* (with working sauna: 4*)
- massage: 5*
- general information + friendliness: 4*
- information on pricing etc.: 3* (only when we left)
All together our experience was somewhere between a good satisfying and very good, but not excellent - but I would definitely go there again, hoping that the sauna works by then and with a better mental timing (the 30-60-30 schedule I mentioned above) :)
