4 day trip with my daughter as a pre uni treat. Very well appointed hotel, one of 3 (4?) in a complex 3 miles outside of Dubrovnik old town. Staff were all excellent; professional and friendly. The spa in the Ariston was a little basic but the one in the next door hotel was fabulous. Guests in any of the hotels can use any if the facilities free of charge. The breakfast buffet was enormous and quality excellent. The buses into Dubrovnik run regularly and only cost about £2 but takes a good 20 minutes. The bus journey put us off travelling into Dubrovnik in the evening if we had been sightseeing in the day and we did find it a little dull around the complex in the evening.

Visited end August beginning September to enjoy the Sunshine. Also got to experience one of their local storms the "Jugo" which demonstrated the skills of the hotel management in dealing with the aftermath of a hefty storm. Evening before we were being ushered off the sea front with no real understanding why, but next morning were greeted with scenes of devastation, pools full of sun beds and parasol bases and the detritus of the storm. 24 hours later and the team had almost everything back up and running so congratulations to them. Nice but fairly standard room had lovely sea views but the air conditioning struggled to keep the room at 20 Celsius. Excellent choice at breakfast but did not dine their so cannot comment on their cuisine. Lovely staff looked after us well, and the old city was a 15 minute bus trip away so visited every evening.

Room tip: Sea view rooms are a must

Great hotel. It is part of a 4 hotel complex that allows guests to use all of the facilities. Sea view room was excellent. The roof top pool is excellent due to it's 18+ policy. There are several pools that are all good. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. Just one word of warning, do not leave your food unattended, the sparrows will swarm on your table and have a feast. Quite entertaining really. We ate here a couple of times, the buffet style evenings are good value for money. Drinks are bit expensive but I suppose it is a 5* hotel. Very little to complain about.

Room tip: Must choose the sea view room.

Perfect retreat for a rest. Bus' s very cheap and easy. Old town close by. Local town 15 minute costal walk lovely restaurants. Not as cheap as we were lead to believe. Becoming increasingly touristy but worth a visit.xx
