Dvori Lapad - Seaview apartment :)
Fabulous apartment overlooking the beach - Spotless. Really well furnished and included everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We were a group of 6 ladies and the landlady Mubera could not do enough to make our stay perfect, she provided gorgeous restaurant recommendations and made our bookings and arranged transport when needed. She made out stay totally stress free, Lapad is a stunning place to visit and just up the road from the old town, Cannot recommend enough and we will be visiting Mubera again soon :)
Thank you for everything xxx
The flat is amazing and the owner is super nice and helpful.
I will definitely come back. Location is great
I have to start with Mubera (the owner) who couldn't have been more helpful, from arranging for us to be collected from and returned to the airport to suggesting a number of sight seeing attractions, restaurants and bars. In all our years of travelling she is by far the friendliest and kindest person we have met. The four bottles of wine she left for us to sample for our birthdays was a lovely gesture.
We were a party of 6 (3 couples) and we found the apartment accommodated us all comfortably. There are 3 bedrooms (2 twins sharing a bathroom and 1 double with ensuite). The indoor living space is bright and airy and the kitchen had all the normal utensils you would expect to see, but to be honest, we only used it for breakfast. There are 2 terraces that provide views over the bay and over the apartment complex. The onsite supermarket and bakery were very convenient and we used the bakery everyday. We also frequented the Planet Blue bar at the bottom of the apartment most days for a well earned gin and tonic after our days out and before making it up to the apartment to get ready to go out again for dinner.
Within 5 minutes walk of the apartment complex there is a padestrianised area with a variety of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. You can also walk along the coast from the apartment complex stopping off at the Hotel More Cave Bar. The number 4 bus also stops right outside the apartment complex and brings you directly to Pile Gate, Old Town, where you can explore beautiful Dubrovnik by foot and walk the ancient city walls. We enjoyed a combination of lunches, coffees and drinks on several days in the Old Town and the views are not to be missed. The prettiest city I have visited. To really appreciate the views we took the cable car and had lunch in the Panorama restaurant and were not disappointed on either count.
If you are foodies like us you will want to visit Pantural. I believe it's rated number 2 on tripadvisor. I loved the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the detail given about each dish as it was served. I had the beef fillet and it was one of best I have ever had. Otta taverna was another lovely little restaurant down by the harbour. Again the staff were really friendly and the grilled sea bass was fantastic. We visited the Orsan Yachting Club restaurant for my husband's birthday on the Saturday evening and chose to sit outside for our meal. The marina setting, friendly staff and fantastic food made for a very memorable evening. I had the squid for my main and it was fabulous. My husband had the tuna and said he had never tasted better. The other 4 guests in our party were also of the same view. When we could not decide what to have for desert the server brought us out a selection of everything to share between the 6 of us which was a great hit with everyone. Finally, the Taj Mahal, which you might expect to be an Indian restaurant but you would be wrong! Even after an explanation from the server I'm still none the wiser really, but if you fancy trying some Bosnian food it was well worth a visit. I hade the "Cheerful Bosnian" veal stuffed with cheese and vegetables.
And last not least if you are looking to visit a beautiful unspoilt island for a couple of hours with a poulation of a few hundred I can recommend Kolocep.
Croatia is beautiful, as are the people and food. We will definitely be coming back.
Four friends and I had the pleasure of staying in Mubera's apartment with on our annual weekend away. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything we could need. Location-wise it couldn't have been much better. The Lapad beach is on the doorstep, excellent restaurants are within walking distance, and Dubrovnik Old Town is just a 10 minute bus ride from right outside the apartment. An added bonus was the bakery in the same building so we could have fresh croissant for breakfast every day.
The icing on the cake was the extra lengths Mubera went to to ensure we made the most of our short stay. This included organising airport taxi transfer and recommending and booking great restaurants.
Four days wasn't nearly enough, and a return trip is already top of our list for the 2017 trip.
