Thank you so much to Anamariya, Perica, Andreas and Danko for making our stay so very enjoyable! We have just spent a week at this gorgeous hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. As others have already stated, the location is perfect, the setting idyllic, the rooms spotless, the staff delightfully friendly, and the food delicious. Need I say more? It is situated on a lovely pedestrian walkway, lined with restaurants and bars to suit every taste. There was no nighttime noise at all, with the exception of a few voices on Fri - Sat night, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The beach is a 5 min walk away. The bus stop is ca 50 m and the buses to the Old City run every 10 mins, day and night, so there is no need for using taxis. We had a fantastic meal at the restaurant - eaten on the charming terrace - served by the most helpful staff who are caring without being intrusive. This was our first visit to the country and we were so very impressed with Croatia and its lovely people. Hotel Zagreb is without doubt the best place to start. So take a look.

The hotel was great, people were amazingly kind. The place is perfect, just a block away from the bus station (takes 10 minutes to get to the old town). Is located in a very touristic neighborhood so you can go out for a nice walk when ever you feel like it.

We stayed 2 nights in a twin room at Hotel Zagreb which is ideally located in Lapad, Dubrovnik. Just outside the hotel are a variety of bars, restaurants and the beach is a few minutes walk away. At the front of the hotel to the right on the main road is the very frequent number 6 bus service to the Old City of Dubrovnik which takes about 10 minutes.

On our first night we were very disappointed with our room due to being small, cramped and out-dated compared to other rooms in the hotel of a similar standard. One of the beds had hairs in it which we asked to be changed and on our return this had not been done. The night staff were good and prompt in sorting this issue when we raised our concern that the bed had not yet been changed. On the second night we were moved room due to the issues from the night before which was the same style of room but larger, updated, clean and a big improvement on the previous room.

The rooms offer free Wi-Fi, safe, air conditioning, digital TV, mini bar and a clean bathroom.

The hotel has a restaurant and breakfast was included in our room rate which was a good breakfast buffet.

There is limited parking at the hotel.

I would of rated this hotel 4 out of 5 if it was not for our first night stay in the hotel with one of the beds not being at an acceptable standard as stated above.

We stayed three nights and absolutely agree with all of the favourable comments and compliments written by others recently - so won't reiterate.
A helpful comment for drivers: we arrived late in the day from Split in our rental vehicle. Our up-to-date GPS directed us to the street above the hotel and down a flight of stairs! Google maps wasn't helpful either. This is because the hotel is on a closed-off street that is now a pedestian walkway. We asked a local for directions. We were very close - but had to go back 2 streets and down to the car park - which is situated after the road ends.
No one else on TA has mentioned this but the desk attendant told us that many have this problem. So - if driving - you may want to check out exactly where you need to go before you get there.

Hotel Zagreb Dubrovnik - Very Pleasant Stay

We, a retired couple stayed at the Zagreb for four nights to tour in Dubrovnik. The hotel is a very lovely old mansion in the Lapad suburb, a 10-minute bus ride from the Pile Gate. Our room was tasteful and fully adequate in size, with good AC and comfortable queen bed. There is no lift, but desk staff was helpful with luggage. There is a great terrace balcony and garden, where we took a good buffet breakfast every day, which was included. The hotel is on a pedestrian-only street, where there were adequate restaurants and bars when we didn't want to stay in town to eat. Staff was very helpful and courteous at the desk and in the dining area. Not as convenient, perhaps, as staying right in the Old Town, but very pleasant and very quiet, and we recommend it.
