The check in time says 2pm but Nikola was cleaning our apartment when we arrived at 11am and asked us to wait on the balcony whilst he finished so we could check in early. He then walked down to the main road with my husband to show him where the bus stop, supermarket and beach was. We never saw him again but he left us his mobile and email. His mum had made some Croatian sweets for us which was a nice touch. The 2 bedrooms are big and have lots of storage. The bathroom is fine (usual Croatian tiles) and the washing machine worked. The only thing the kitchen lacked was a decent sharp knife but otherwise everything worked including the wifi (but only in the double bedroom). There is a ceiling fan in the twin room but the air con is very good and if you leave the bedroom doors open it cools the whole flat. The balcony wrapped around 2 sides of the apartment and had a great view of the bridge and the port but not really a "sea view" but it was nice anyway. We caught the bus a lot during our stay (30 kuna for an all day ticket) and went to the Old Town, Lokrum (excellent), Copacabana beach (shingle so easier to enter than most of the pebble/rock beaches), the local ones in Lapad and Cavtat (definitely worth a trip). On our last night we discovered the More Cave Bar which is on the right hand path at the bottom of Uvala beach. A great spot at sunset and the kids loved the bar which is inside a real cave complete with stalactites. A really good 5 nights. Apartment just right, good location, quiet and clean.
