Beautiful town so clean tidy and safe. The whole town is stunning. So pretty to walk around lots of resutrants and little shops to walk around but the best part is the city walls and historic sites to walk around all reasonable to enter. Do the city walls first thing before it gets hot. Very pretty harbour and a ferry you can get over to lokrum (don't pay for trips over just take the ferry which includes cost of ticket for the island it runs every half hour i think) lovely long weekend can be spent here

Our Guide Ivana was superior.
Her knowledge of the war and her perfect English made our one-hour tour totally comprehensible. The personal information of what her family had endured really was an eye opener. For being just 26 years old
she surely knew how to explain the complexities of her country’s history! Great Job.

While I wouldn't suggest you could eat off the streets - it is a very clean and tidy destination. Today, there were 5 cruise ships in port which is a bulge of about 15,000 tourists - and the city handled it with ease. Prices are fair and the local merchants quick to serve. There as no beggars or gypsies - a treat after experiences in Rome!

The town has lots of history and culture. Ambling around the streets is an excellent way to discover it. Lots of Game of Thrones locations.
Packed with cafe/ bars with lots of choice.
Becomes very congested as Cruise ship and tour travellers arrive from 10 am.

This is unavoidable to have crowds. I hit a day with two big cruise ships in port and so many tour groups. But you have to go anyway. Fantastic.
