Stradun is the main street in Dubrovnik Old Town. It divides the Old town. There are two main entrances into the old town: Pile Gate in the west and Ploče Gate in the east; these are connected by Stradun (Placa), the main pedestrian thoroughfare. To the east of the old town rises Mount Srdj . We spent a lot of time in the evening, it get very crowded in the morning

Our guide from Gate1 showed us how the city took advantage of the winds to help keep them cool. By building the streets long and narrow to the sea and up against the mountains they helped direct the wind as a sort of swamp cooler. Good job

Even though it is very crowded it is still an exciting main street that cuts through the old city and gives you dozens of places to see and admire as you stroll up and down.

This city is dying, stomped by tourists, unfortunately - and it makes me worried as I know it from few years back, when it was much more natural rather than only a scenery for post-"game of thrones" cash gathering.
Anyway, the street is still the same, esp if You can imagine it without this loud crowd. Worth to see - if You can deal with (too many) people around

This is a fun street to walk up and down. First, the buildings located here are historic and beautiful. The street is made of polished stones that reflect daylight and lights at night, making it look so inviting. It is a wide street, but during certain times, it will be packed with tourists. Early morning and late evening you will find less crowds. There are stores, restaurants, bars, etc. located here. The atmosphere is charged with energy!
