The location was ok, a short bus ride to the old city. The room looks to be recently refurbished but the fittings were not functional. Hand tower rails which are low and deep in the sink counter that you had to bend awkwardly to dry your hands. The hair dryer was a wall unit which instead of being attached to the wall, was stuffed in the drawer which has no power point. We reported to the staff that the a knob on the shower/bath is missing and it was never fixed during our 3 nights stay. Even the peephole on the door is meant for 6 footers or taller. We didlaugh over the absurdly of it but will probably not stay there again.

Recently returned from a two week stay. The staff at this hotel are what make it so enjoyable. Every one of them without exception was friendly and eager to please. I think maybe two weeks was a little too long to stay. We ran out of things we wanted to do. The food is buffet style. There was a good selection both at breakfast and dinner, although on occasions it wasn’t always as hot as it could be. Nice bar area to sit in with a Croatian trio performing there a few nights each week. Our room was in the annexe and was very comfortable. Plenty of sunloungers around the pool and adjoining garden area. Pity there were no upright chairs. My husband and l both suffer with back problems so weren’t able to sit out. Many of the guests are older people, l’m sure they would welcome some upright chairs too. Some people did take chairs from the bar, but l don’t think that’s ideal.

There is a new marina soon to be opened directly outside the hotel. Whether this will enhance or detract from the area only time will tell. I think it will spoil the view.

It was very easy to get the bus into Dubrovnik Old Town. They run very frequently. We found for us it was best to catch the bus outside the hotel (it’s a one way street and this is where you alight on your return) travel a few stops then cross the road, re-using the same ticket and catch a bus to the Old Town. This way we always ensured we got a seat on the bus. Buy your tickets in advance at hotel reception. Would also suggest checking the cruise ships arrivals as some days there’s up to 5 cruise ships in port and the Old Town can become very congested with tourists.

There are a few nice walks from the hotel. Our favourite was turn left out of hotel, continue along the road past the petrol station and bear right. Keep walking, you will pass the Yacht Club(nice to pop in for a cooling beer), up a bit of a hill and then you can walk along a pedestrianised walkway on the coastal path. It is quiet here with just a few walkers and some benches along the way to stop for a rest.

We visited the nearby Skar Winery and also Orka restaurant- both recommended - turn right from hotel and both a very short walk.

We stayed here as a couple for our 4 day city break to Dubrovnik. The hotel is in a very good location beside the port. Number 6 bus passes the hotel frequently so getting to old town and back is straight forward. ( last bus from old town, pile gate 12 midnight ). It is worth buying a multi bus ticket for your stay. The hotel is everything we expected it to be :
Hotel and grounds were well kept and heated pool was great.
Buffet breakfast and dinner was very good with great selections.....tasty.
Superior room was very good and had everything we required.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant if you required anything.
Lovely restaurants and bars close to the hotel if you just fancy staying local.
Coming out of hotel grounds take a left turn and keep walking past small petrol station continue to climb short hill until you come to the round about. ( small shop here as well )Go straight on at roundabout and you will find a long promenade with bars & restaurants leading to the beach. This is a very nice place, continue on and you can walk the coastline around Lapad on the walkway, with more restaurants and bars if you fancy stopping. ( Cave Bar More definitely worth a stop for a cold beer just for its scenery and location.
We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Lapad for visiting beautiful Old town and chilling out in Lapad. Looking forward to coming back again.

This is a lovely hotel from when we arrived until we departed, my husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks all staff attentive, charming, polite and all spoke good english. The food at breakfast was plentiful and lots to choose from as was dinner, everything cooked just perfect. We was half board, we also had a couple of lunches at the pool bar and in the evening listen to a 3 piece group when they was on. They was very good and played there instruments lovely. Yes drinks are expensive and cheaper at the shops as other reviews have stated, but thats the same if you was at home.

Bus number 6 gets you to old town but they do get busy and at times it is standing room only, we took a taxi when we went.
I thought our room was fine, lovely , clean and the room attendants did a good job, replenishing soap, shower gel, towels etc everyday. We also used the laundry service (this is extra) they did a good job having your washing back the same day. They even iron and hang it up in your wardrobe.
The bathroom was fine and didnt faze us with the glass doors, my only gripe is we paid extra for a room with a balcony (very small) had 2 chairs with a small table not much leg room and very hard for 2 people to sit out and enjoy the sun.
Tea and coffee in the room but the milk is not nice so didnt bother, drank lots of bottle water that we bought from the premo shop down the road.
This hotel is perfect to stay at as you are close to lots of amenities, shops, restaurants, chemists and atm's. Harbour not finished yet but wasnt disturbed by noise, as they are just preparing for the opening in september
One other tip if your prone to the instects bites bring some antihistamines as we forgot ours, as i said chemist are in the town and easy to find.
As i have said the hotel is lovely, we would definitely come here to stay again, thank you to everyone concered in making our stay so enjoyable from reception staff, dinning staff, pool bar staff and of course house keeping who kept our room fresh and clean. You all do a wonderful job and are a credit to lapad hotel .Also a big thank you to Tito who brought us the lovely wine we enjoyed most nights
