“Excellent! A lovely modern spacious apartment close to all amenities.”
Reviewed 7 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

An Excellent apartment - spacious, comfortable and well equipped it had everything we needed for our six night stay, including excellent Wi-Fi. It is set in a great location in Lapad with fabulous views from the balcony - over looking Lapad bay. It is also located close to many great restaurants and bars.

Anna and Aldin were very helpful with any queries we had - from our initial contact with regard to booking the apartment to organizing an airport taxi transfer on our arrival and departure. Thank you both.

“family of 3 5night stay”

Spacious, well equipped accommodation with great views of Lapad bay. Aldin was a great host and met us at the apartment on our arrival, we had arranged to call him an hour before we arrived as we were driving down the coast from Split. He helped us in with our cases and gave us some great local info on where the apartment was located in relation to the bay and old town and where all the local amenities were along with useful info on the best buses to use to get around etc. He also gave us all his contact details should we need him for anything but we never required to do so as everything in the apt was great but was reassuring to know too. We had a hire car and there is great underground secure car parking with an allocated space below the apartment.

The apartment itself is very well equipped with all mod cons and everything you would require for a family stay with 2 bathrooms and showers, good aircon and shutters and blackout blinds on all windows. beds were comfy and can be setup as singles or a double upstairs and were set as 2 singles in the downstairs room. Wifi is good and other things such as a washing machine, large fridgefreezer, dishwasher, hair dryer, ironing board etc meant it really is a home from home. We only ever had some breakfast or lunch in the apartment but the kitchen is a great size if you wanted to cook a proper meal in it too with plenty of dining space in the living area and there's a decent sized balcony for chilling on too. There were lots of good books and maps providing tourist info around the coffee table in the living room too.
Because the place has great views this comes with the only slight downside we could think of that there are plenty of steps to get from the bay up to the apartment unless you followed the roads. This wasn't a problem for us as we are fit and able and wouldn't stop us from using the place again either, our son is 6 and didnt complain too much about the climb either. The bay of Lapad is very well serviced with plenty of local shops, supermarkets and local bars and restaurants as well as a newly refurbished local beach that had just reopened prior to our arrival and will have even more bars etc opening in the coming months. We also visited Copacabana beach on the other side of the bay which had parking nearby and was well serviced and a nice little spot for watching the cruise ships come and go from Dubrovnik. There are plenty of local bus stops down on the main street too if you want to get into the old town of Dubrovnik although in high season these are very busy but we were informed the no.6 is most frequent and takes you right to the Pile gate entrance. Instead we used the car to go the 10min drive to the old town and parked just on the outskirts as parking is very expensive right next to the walls, there's a couple of zone 3 parking zones around a 10-15min walk away that only require you to pay until 10pm.
The old town of Dubrovnik is stunning and absolutely worth going to which we did for a meal every night however there are a couple of good restaurants on the street in front of the apartment that always had a buzz about them too. Its worth noting if you want to walk the walls in the old town that you pay to do so and the last entry is 1930 and we were advised to try visiting later in the day for both the heat and the fact that itd be a bit quieter as the day trippers from the cruise ships should be gone by then.
We also visited the town of Cavtat which was around 30mins drive towards the airport or there are taxi/tour boats that take you from the the old town harbour. This was a bit more chilled than Dubrovnik and had a few small beaches on the rocks and some nice tree lined walks with small bars along it aswell as all the palces at the harbour itself. If you are in Dubrovnik for an extended time this is worth a visit for a change of scene although there are so many islands and boat trips to go on you are really spoiled for choice.
Aldin met us on the day of departure to collect the keys and wish us farewell, we loved Apt Robbie and Dubrovnik and would come back to both although possibly try Dubrovnik again slightly out of season to beat the crowds. Thanks Aldin, we had a great time, Campbell, Lisa and Harrison.

“Lovely apartment / great area to stay in”
Reviewed 18 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Just back from 10 days in Apartment Robbie. The apartment is very spacious and has everything you would expect. The airconditioning was recently replaced and is brilliant, really effective. There are lots of cleaning essentials available to use so don't worry about bringing your own. Also, thoughtful things like bin bags, dishwasher tablets and even Arial for the washing machine.

Yes the apartment is up many steps, but you get used to them honestly! The view is beautiful. Use the Hotel Kompass lift from the main promenade and this will save you about 80 steps! As long as you are discrete, they don't mind.

Before we went I was concerned about the negative reviews regarding the beach construction. I needn't have been. There is another beach virtually next to it which is great. Crystal clear water and no noise from the construction. I think this is coming to an end soon and will be lovely when finished.

Finally, Aldin, the property owner/manager was great. Really helpful from the very start. He gave us lots of useful information upon arrival, looked after our cases on the last day as we had a late flight and arranged transfers to and from the airport. He was on hand via mobile if we needed anything at all.

Croatia is beautiful, Dubrovnik stunning and Lapad a really lovely little area to be based in. We have travelled all over and you would be hard pressed to find clearer sea - an absolute joy to swim in!

“Comfortable stay in Apt Robbie-Lapad”
Reviewed 3 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Central location for Lapad Bay.Within easy walking distance of main restaurants and supermarkets. Quite a climb up a lot of steep steps to get from the bay in Lapad to the apartment, but was worth every step for the view from the balcony, which was a great place to have breakfast and a glass of wine in the evening. Comfortable sofas and beds with plenty of DVD's to watch if you just fancy a night in. Everything is spotlessly clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The only thing I missed was a coffee machine or cafetiere as I am a coffee addict!!
A welcome pack which included some milk, water and orange juice was useful as we arrived in the evening. Aldin was there to meet us and was very helpful with information about the apartment and the general area. He even collected our cases on the last day and retained them at his house until we were ready to go to the airport as we had a late flight back to the UK and check out is at 10 00am. I would certainly return to Apartment Robbie and would recommend it for a self catering choice in Lapad.
