I would give this property full marks but for one thing and I'll get to that in a minute. The apartments are modern, the furniture and kitchen implements are new, the apartment we stayed in was spotless, the bed comfortable a decent bathroom and there were lovely views over the sea to Cavtat. The one big drawback is that there are more than 90 steps from the road below to the apartment - difficult enough without luggage but even more so with. The owner says in his property description that it is suitable for all ages including the elderly. I'm a long way on the wrong side of 60 and fairly fit but anyone older or with health problems would really struggle with the steps. With this one reservation, I would fully recommend this property.

“Dubrovnik...amazing!”
Reviewed 26 January 2014 for a stay in September 2013

First time holiday in Croatia for the 2 of us - stunning scenery, wonderful people and fantastic weather in September
It was a change from Italy/France, where we might usually visit, and a great decision - we'll definitely return.

Why Dubrovnik?

Historic old city. Lots of places to see. Street music, fun atmosphere. Eating out - spoilt for choice. Great local transport. Croatian wine (a first for us - visit D'Vino for a tasting!). Attractive walking trails outside town. Dubrovnik has an attractive 'mature' air - plenty of young folks and older folks too but no sign of stag/hen groups, unlike some other beautiful old cities, thankfully. Good value too.

If staying, as we did, for more than a week you might venture beyond Dubrovnik. Take ferries to nearby Adriatic islands. Rent a car & drive South to Montenegro (take Euros) - glorious coastline around Kotor Bay makes a great day out - reminds us of Italian Lakes. Mostar in Bosnia (Euros, Kuna ok in tourist area - no need for local currency) is c3 hours by car - really interesting town especially when followed by visit to War Photos exhibition in Dubrovnik - truly humbling. Driving is a pleasure - main roads (particularly coastal road around Dubrovnik) are far smoother than potholed UK roads, speed limits are low & largely respected. Uncomfortable driving? Jump on an organised tour instead.

So, you're hooked on Dubrovnik. What about the apartment? First the practical stuff......

15 mins with bus from Old Town. Short walk to beach. Bus stop within a stone's throw. Easy parking right outside). It's the best equipped apartment we've EVER stayed in -

Now that VIEW and the BALCONY - the previous reviewers express this far more poetically than I ever could. It's heavenly. If you don't want to leave the apartment, just spend a week on the balcony instead.

Now the REAL reason why you DON'T need to look further for somewhere to stay. We've stayed in perhaps 10-15 holiday apartments over the years but our hosts here - - were incomparable. From our 1st email to the last night BBQ on the terrace we were treated like longstanding friends.

I can't thank you enough. We enjoyed a wonderful stay.

“Beautiful apartment in stunning location”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had an absolutely wonderful relaxing week away in one of Niksa's appartments, Soline. We received a warm welcome from Niksa and his family and he went out of his way to provide us with maps and advice on which beaches to visit. He even went so far as to give us his mobile number in case we needed any further assistance whilst out and about. The apartment itself was lovely and clean with a beautiful sea view. We enjoyed relaxing on our balcony each evening, watching the stunning sun sets. Niksa and his family had worked hard to furnish the apartment with anything you could possibly need and made it feel exceptionally homely. Additionally there was an outside covered dining area with a brick oven for outside cooking pursuits - well worth a try! The local beach was perfect for our needs - small, quiet and not full of tourists! Access to the beach is via a large number of stairs, but it's certainly worth the walk. There is one restaurant within walking distance which serves tasty, reasonably priced food, but Cavtat is certainly worth a visit for a more diverse range of food. The location is extremely handy for exploring the Dalmation Coastline south of Dubrovnik and the bus stop is located right outside the apartment. The city centre is 15/20 minutes by bus and buses run regularly and late into the night. In the other direction is the peaceful coastal town of Cavtat. There is plenty of exploring to do, including boat trips to local islands and coach tours into neighbouring countries. We visited Mostar for the day and purchased our tickets at the bus station in Dubrovnik. If you are planning to primarily cater for yourself, do take Niksa up on his offer to stop off at the supermarket on the way to the apartment from the airport. We highly recommend this apartment and hope to return in the future.
