“Fantastic apartment in the heart of the old city.”

We stayed in the apartment for 3 days during August and found it to be an ideal base for exploring the city. It is right in the centre and is about a 2 minute walk from St Blasius Church and Stradun ideal for when you get hot / tired and just want to pop back to rest before setting off again.
Marko was very helpful with his directions on how to find the apartment; we arrived via Port Gruz having previously spent 9 days in Korcula and he was there to meet us; even though we were nearly an hour late. He recommended places to eat for which we were very grateful as there are so many to choose from.
The apartment is compact and well furnished, ideal for all our needs.
We had a fantastic time in Dubrovnik, I couldn't recommend it enough and would very much like to have spent more time there; hindsight is a wonderful thing.

“We loved this apartment, and we plan on going back!!!”

My husband and I just returned from a stay at Apartment Nike. I cannot speak highly enough of the apartment, the location and of Marko and Nike. If you are considering a holiday in Dubrovnik and want to stay in the Old Town, this is unbeatable.

First, Marko is so nice and very easy to work with. He is very prompt with communications and helpful if you have questions. He also sent us very detailed directions to help us find the apartment for the day we arrived. His mother, Nike, lives upstairs and welcomed us when we arrived. She is SO sweet...we arrived hot and sweaty and she quickly surprised us with two cold beers. :) They are just wonderful. On the day we left, our taxi picked us up at 5:15 in the morning and it was a rainy morning…Marko got up early and walked us all the way to the city walls with umbrellas to help us.

The apartment itself is just perfect. Larger than European hotel rooms, with wi-fi, air conditioning, a kitchen, a living area, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the apartment was very clean. It even has two beach towels and a beach bag that you can take with you to the beach. It is right above the Marco Polo restaurant (which is outstanding, you must go there!), but this is not a rowdy restaurant, so we were never bothered by noise.

The location is unbeatable. When traveling, we love to walk around and explore a city on foot as much as we can. If you want to be in the center of the Old Town, you are not going to do any better than this apartment. It is literally right in the middle of everything, but tucked away so that it’s quiet. It is only steps away from the main square and main streets. There are restaurants and wine bars all over the place within a few steps. We could not believe what an outstanding location we were in.

Again, if you want to be in the Old Town and in the thick of things, don’t hesitate about this apartment. The value is outstanding. We were thrilled with everything about it! We plan to go back to Dubrovnik, and when we do we will definitely stay here again.

“Best place to stay in Dubrovnik without a doubt!!”

We stayed in Apt. Nike for nine days in June and were very pleased with the central location, the immaculate condition it was in, the great nite's sleep we always had, but most of all we appreciated and loved Marco's grandmother Nike who made our stay so outstanding! Chocolate truffles, fresh towels and sheets before you even thought you needed them and arriving back at the apartment with a freshly baked warm cake waiting for us!! This is the place you would want to stay. Also, the price is very reasonable for Dubrovnik!

“Ideal”
Reviewed 13 June 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed here for a week in late April 2015, which was a good time of year to go.

The place was ideally located in Old Town, on the first floor. We did have some difficulty finding the entrance initially... the door to the stairs is actually in the closed courtyard where the outside tables for the Marco Polo restaurant are.

We didn't find restaurant noise an issue at all - firstly because the restaurant was not exactly rowdy, but secondly because the bedroom window does not open on to that side of the building.

There was a heating/air con unit, but we found we didn't need either.

There were a couple of minor niggles - the hot water needs turning on under the sink - this was easy to do but not very obvious. The cooker has 2 electric and 2 gas hobs, but the gas burners were not connected to anything - so you effectively have two hobs and a microwave to cook stuff. We found that was fine for our needs though.

The owner/manager was very welcoming (we saw Mrs Nike occasionally during the week as she lives upstairs), and we got some cake left for us on one occasion which was a nice touch.

Overall: double bed was comfortable, quiet, no heat/cold issues, bathroom good, kitchen fine, location excellent

“The best place to stay in Dubrovnik.”

Excellent accommodation in every way. Comfortable, very clean, quiet, well equipped...great value considering how close it is to all the attractions and services. The old town of Dubrovnik isn't large so is quite easy to get around. Some areas are steep and involve a lot of steps - not the case in the area around Apartment Nike although the apartment itself is situated up one flight of stairs, no lift. Locating the correct front door proved to be a challenge...you actually enter the Marco Polo restaurant and the door is on the right; we asked a local who fortunately knew where to go and, once in, it was well worth the effort. We felt quite special strolling in, I'm sure the restaurant diners were thinking 'where are they going and how come we didn't know of this gem!' Grandma Nike greeted us warmly and the fact that neither of us spoke the other's language only heightened the experience. Location was such that we could duck back to the apartment between sightseeing excursions in the local surrounds. If you have read this far, read no more and do yourself a favour - just book it, you won't regret it. PS Be sure to walk the Wall and ride the cable car to Srd - fantastic views over the Old Town.
