We were first drawn in by glimpsing the beautiful garden from the street. Decorated with bright colour schemes and plentiful plants, it seemed the perfect tropical enclave for lunch on a sunny day. I ordered steak with three pepper sauce, which was delicious. My wife took a panini, which she was also very happy with. We felt so at peace with the lovely garden here that we decided to stay at the hotel for a few days the next time we were in Antigua! And we did not regret it. The rooms are comfortable, the location ideal, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Thanks Posada San Carlos!

My partner and I were in a room on the main level that backed onto the street. It got pretty loud in the room come 6 am, but the room had everything we needed and was very clean. The hotel grounds were beautiful and enjoyable to relax in. The included breakfast was good too, although it is only available after 8 am. The entire place was well maintained and, depending on your preferences, was super dead the whole 3 days we were there. It may have been due to the season we visited in though. Overall, a pleasant experience but with a couple of inconveniences.

Posada de San Carlos was a great place to stay. Centrally located, clean, comfy beds and a nice courtyard and terrace. The staff was helpful and very friendly (especially Marco). They helped arrange a trip to Pacayo and an airport shuttle.

We had 2 wonderful days in Antigua, most of them in this guest house. Marcos is friendly and kind to help.
Rooms are not renovated and had a weird smell, but manageable. We ate lunch once, tasty but overpriced. Ground floor rooms has noise at night..
