A great destination cafe in mid-coast Maine. Enjoy the drive along the scenic St George river byway- only 10 miles from Camden- EVERYTHING made from scratch- no processed food here. Muffins, cookies, mimosas, breakfast salad, mimosas, meatloaf sandwiches, burritos, curried tuna melt- a nice selection of beer and wine.
Could go on and on - but you get it: )
Began a dinner with Sangria spritzer , ended with homemade churros

My wife and I had stopped at Deer Foot Farm during a summer garden tour for some refreshment on a hot day, but after looking at their menu and talking to their engaging owners, we vowed to come back. Unfortunately it took us until the Saturday after the next Thanksgiving Day, when we drove eleven miles over to the farm for a late breakfast (brunch?) with a houseguest from Illinois. We were all still full of Thanksgiving turkey and wondering if we really wanted a big breakfast, but the combination of the fresh country air, the handsome scenery that we passed en route, and, last but not least, the Deer Foot's very tempting offerings.
The restaurant is in a very unprepossessing building that is part grocery and wine shop, so there was some initial doubt about whether we'd made a good choice. But the friendliness and genuineness of the owners and staff and generous and delicious offerings of food quickly won us over. This was a great find.
The dishes are unique and well-flavored takes on breakfast classics. My wife had the broccoli and cheddar frittata special, our guest, the red flannel hash, and I had their smoked salmon bagel (with an English muffin instead of a bagel. Everything was exceptional and generous. All the dishes came with refreshing cups of fresh mixed fruit and berries. The orange juice servings were both fresh-squeezed and ample, and the coffee was both good and frequently replenished. And finally, the prices were very reasonable; an exceptional value well worth the drive.

Deer Foot Farm is not like any place I have ever been. It's sort of a cross between a cafe, natural food store, and farm market. It's casual, eclectic, and the folks there are very friendly. There are just a handful of tables, so you might have to wait if you stop by at a busy time. We've been there a few times and would go back again in a heartbeat. The breakfasts are great, and the sandwiches are too. The red flannel hash is pretty awesome. I had the meat loaf sandwich this time. It was delicious!

Everything we’ve tried or seen coming from the kitchen at Deerfoot has been consistent and amazing! Extremely friendly people, warm atmosphere, just an all around great experience. Sitting on top of one of the hills in the Union area, this places will not disappoint! I always get the red flannel hash, I’ve had to get a second dish because I love the hash so much but want to try everything! Enjoy

One doesn't expect to find a restaurant at a farm, but there it is. I was a bit skeptical, but went along with the family, and enjoyed it very much.
