We booked through San Blas sailing and all arrangements were done via email--everything was as quoted and perfect. We are a family with two boys ages 9 &10 that returned from 3 days on Pepita. Gilbert is an amazing Captain that shared his knowledge of the area. Words cannot explain the beauty of the San Blas. Elisabeth, the cook, has a smile that doesn't stop. Her meals were wonderful and my picky children would agree! The boat provided plenty of cold beverages: beer, wine, rum, juice. We saw dolphins, snorkeled on endless reefs, had a BBQ on our own island, met Kuna, toured Kuna Villages, and had a family vacation we will remember forever. This was a trip we are already talking about repeating.
You need to remember you are on a boat and the captain cannot control the weather. Gilbert told us that customers complain to him about cloudy skies or too much or too little wind...not in his control. We read reviews about which islands to see and decided to let the captain pick--because he knows the area. The islands are surrounded by coral and based on wind and waves it was more difficult to approach certain islands.

These group of islands are just incredible, but its wilderness is a key part of its beautiness. Stayed in two different islands, one being a cementary of winkles close to the open ocean reef and the other a small one. Try to stay on turist-unoccupied islands and the adventure will become much better. Look for aaron as he truly cares for his clients

We spend 2 nights and 3 days onboard sailboat Ananda Lahari with host: Gabriel and Ornella. We had an amazing time, great food, fun boat, and great service!

Also special thanks to Stef from itravelbyboat, she was very helpful in assisting us with finding the right boat!

All the best!

We stayed with Alex on board his catamaran, The Pacifica for 4 nights in December 2013 as part of our honeymoon. The experience blew us away! The islands are beautiful and sailing around them meant we were free to swim, snorkel, visit the islands or laze on the boat as much as we wanted - it was very indulgent! This is the best way to see the islands undoubtedly and the sort of experience we never thought we would have. Amazing.

The catamaran is clean and well equipped and our cabin was comfortable. Alex cooks great food on his BBQ and will look out for fresh seafood as well when available. He knows some great spots to visit on the islands and was very flexible with the itinerary and what we wanted to do.

Overall this was a fabulous experience and very good value for money. You are booking independently with Alex, and he looks after his guests - the website shows very clearly what the boat is like and what is on offer. We would recommend sailing with sailingsanblasislands.com to anyone who wanted to fully appreciate this amazing place.

Thank you Alex - we had a fabulous time!

It’s always nice when the Chief of the island welcomes you upon arrival. Simple, sand-floor huts (and the sand is the consistency of flour) serve as habitation and meals are served rancho-style in the restaurant.

Iguana is a small island with good snorkelling right off of the beach. It’s very pretty and the breeze at night helps keep temperatures tolerable. A positive experience in beautiful San Blas!
