This apartment was just what i was looking for. Nicely furnished, a small gas hob and with the ever necessary wi-fi and a/c, it had everything I needed. A proper shower with a bit of oomf was good to see. The washing machine was handy as well.
The main thing about this apartment though is its location. A stones throw from piata romana means you will always find a taxi and can give a taxi directions home, even if your romanian is somewhat lacking. A short walk from the Ateneul and calea victoriei means you are within easy reach of culture vulturing and restaurants. And local ammeneties means you don't have to wander round fo ages looking for a supermarket, cash machine (or late night soarma!).
Yes it is a studio apartment, so its not huge. Yes, the building itself is a little run down (but was in the middle of being refurbished while i was there and is looking rather lovely). If you are claustrophobic you won't appreciate the communist era box lift, and if you are unfit, 5 flights of stairs can be a little daunting. But at less than £30 a night, its is the perfect bas camp for adventure for a solo traveller or couple looking to explore Bucharest for the first (or in my case, 4th) time.
