This market is like all other souvenirs market. However the tour-guide took us to one shop upfront where they explained how to know the difference between real silver and fake, and the difference between baby-alpaca and “maybe-alpaca” which consist of polyester. Overall that approach is a smart way of selling.

We went to the market on a Saturday and found a few souvenirs. I was a little disappointed with the Pisac market, especially after having gone to the San Pedro market in Cusco several times during our visit. San Pedro market seemed to have much more to offer with rows and rows of fresh fruits, vegetables, dry goods, textiles, and souvenirs. If you go to Cusco, visit the market of San Pedro and skip the Pisac market.

Great for colorful photos and seeing peruvians dressed in traditional garb. They will offer to pose with you but expect to be tipped so bring dollars. Great marketplace filled with everything you can think of. Reasonable prices.

After spending a week on a mission trip in the city of Pisac I really got to know the people. I also really enjoyed the shopping and sights here more than Machu Picchu. Less people and better prices. I would highly recommend for those looking to shop in Peru.

The must go place for shopping. Lots of bargains to be had. The market is so colourful and full of characters. Very sad to find the guinea pig hotel next door to the clay oven.
I will always visit this market as bargains are always to be had. Get a taxi to bring you to the market rather than a bus as it so much more comfortable.
