Owner description: Considered a masterpiece of colonial architecture, this monastery is a large complex of rooms, picturesque plazas, ornate fountains and a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets.

Very interesting to walk around the monastery. See how nicely lived the perfect life. Very cute streets and rooms. Historical location, but really luxurious.

Very historical. Beautiful architecture! Our guide was very knowledgeable. The pastry’s the nuns make are so delicious.

Really enjoyed the tour we did through the Monastery. It was built in the 16th/17century, and the architecture/colors are beautiful. It is much larger than anticipated, and also more beautiful than I imagined. We had a guided tour, which you really must take. The rooms were all very interesting, and I was amazed with the lovely amount of outdoor space there was including a rose garden. The Monastery is still occupied now with a couple of dozen nuns living at the property, down from over 400 many years ago. This is a must see in Arequipa.

Don't miss the monastery when you go to Arequipa and spend another 10 Soles on the guided tour (offered in several languages) to learn more about the life behind those walls in colonial Peru. The monastery complex itself is enchanting with its colourful walls and cloisters. After the guided tour, you can still spend as much time as you like exploring the monastery on your own or you go to the beautiful garden café.
