This was one of our favorite places in our month long visit to Cuenca. The simplicity of the architecture is captivating. The rooms on 2 floors surrounding the courtyards where the planting was being enhanced and cleaned up, are full of interesting and nicely displayed items. Even if you are not religious, one can find a lot to appreciate in the beauty and history of some of the items displayed. You can think of the people who made them, the reasons for them to be. The elaborate diorama style displays had more to see than there was time to fully investigate. Especially touching were the toys brought in as part of a girl's dowry as 12 was the age they could be accepted.
I try to put myself into the history of what I am viewing as I travel and not judge other people and other times.More
