This is the nicest histek I've ever been to. The staff is extremely service-minded and the hang-out areas are very nice, making it easy to connect to other people. Would love to stay there again at some point. Highly recommended.

OK I'm going to split this review in two parts, because I think whether you like this hostel or not depends a great deal on personality.

The hostel is big, with a lot of nooks and crannies leading to pockets of rooms. It's got good amenities, with a main kitchen but with little ones as well, social spaces, working spaces etc, so you could be both social and also have quieter spaces. There isn't really any flaw I could mention in terms of amenities. The halls are eclectic and kinda funky, just like in the photos. Good WiFi, good and spacious room, locker available, etc. You'd basically have whatever you might need as a traveller.

The staff were really good, and super professional. I had accidentally left my phone in the taxi and they helped me call the driver several times until we were successful. As my Spanish isn't nearly good enough to handle a complicated conversation on meeting-up logistics, this was a godsend.

The main downside to this hostel, which to another person wouldn't be a downside at all, is that it is big. This means there are a LOT of other people. And while it's generally an ok atmosphere, nonetheless there will be people wherever you go. It is not exactly a quiet hostel. Another introvert will not require any further explanation than this.

It would be a 5-point rating (if not higher) for an extrovert traveler. For an introvert, it drops down to 4.

GREAT and affordable place! Centrally located with good access to Santiago public transportation to every place that someone would like to visit. Helpful and friendly English-speaking staff (bi-lingual). Rooms are clean and hostel is furnished with modern conveniences throughout. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We had a great stay here. The staff were welcoming. We got free towels. The breakfast was fantastic, best we have had in a hostel. This is a clean hostel, well run. A pity the shared kitchen isn't bigger. Overall, a great stay.

The biggest hostel I have ever stayed in- it's nice to meet lots of different travellers,
but being so big gives it an impersonal feeling...

Stayed there for a week... walking distance from Baquedano Metro (subway) station (Line 1)- which makes it easy to commute through the city.

Very clean and comfortable hostel.
Kitchens are well equiped and clean.
Bedrooms are nice, mattreses are good, and the sheets comfortable.
Lockers in the bedrooms are spacious.
Enough bathrooms, clean and always has warm water.
Nice sofas in the hallways to sit down and relax.
The breakfast was good.

Did not like the fact that the only way to avoid paying the local Sales Tax was by paying with Credit Card, and having the card charged in USD, found that a bit strange,,,

Did not like the fact that the entire hostel (except the bathrooms and bedrooms of course) is filled with cameras- gives it a bit of a "Big Brother" house feel- like you are being watched all the time- but it is understandable given the size of the hostel...

Would still recommend the hostel though.

Hi lourensdejager, thanks for your complete feedback! In the case of avoidig the local taxes, is not just by credit card, is just by paying in dollars, cash or credit card, because the tax is in our local coin. About the cameras we do it just for the safety of the passengers. Hopefully you come back!
