I loved the vibe, it’s more of a family restaurant. I loved the menu, a good mix of french and chinese cuisines.

This restaurant serves French and Asian cuisine. We started dinner with the Watercress Velouté, very tasty; followed by the Pan-seared Barramundi and Wok-fried Egg Noodles. Both dishes are portioned generously. Dessert was the Tiramisu accompanied with Cappuccino.

The service by Shankar and his team members were excellent and they treated us like VIPs. We will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Well done!

P.S. We arrived at the hotel to pick up a package left behind by a guest and as we walked in and admired the crystal leaves ceiling art installation, we were impressed with Muhd Al, who gave a thorough explanation after he approached and greeted us. He started by asking if we knew the story behind the artpiece. He is definitely a good ambassador of the hotel.

This restaurant is immaculately designed, with wood and marble being the main hard surfaces. It occupies a large area next to the lobby lounge and its tables can accommodate couples and large parties. There is even a private room next to the kitchen. On one side of the restaurant, chefs can be seen cooking up a storm in the open concept kitchen.

The cuisine is French and Asian. For a variety of dishes, French and Asian degustation menus are available. Dinner for my partner and I started off with the Watercress Velouté. The vegetarian soup was presented with the ingredients in a soup dish. The service staff then poured the liquid soup over them. We then had both the French and Asian main dishes. Preferring vegetarian and fish, we opt for the Pan-seared Barramundi and Wok-fried Egg Noodles. Both dishes are portioned generously, given their prices. Dessert was the firm favourite Tiramisu.

The service rendered by Shankar and his team were superb and they indulged us with their fullest attention. I choose to believe it was not because there were only a few tables in the restaurant.

We will return and give our recommendations to friends.

Tried Racines with my friend on Thursday night. We totally love the scallop with yuzu sauce, it was very refreshing.
They will also serve each guest a small bowl of Veloute de cresson (cold vegeterian soup)
Highly recommended Lobster Brisque, Wagyu Beef Cheek, Kurobuta Pork..
Jas who served us during our dinner was very helpful with recommendations too.

I will definitely want to go back and try their lobster, prawn and their frog legs!!

Last Sunday we family of 4 had the lunch buffet, starts 11:30 and only on Sunday. While waiting for the opening we were served with home made refreshing cold lemongrass drinks.

The space (and the hotel in general) is very pleasant and spacious, comfortable, with full set of cutlery, but no soup spoon (and no soup spoons at where they serve soups). The staff are very attentive and friendly, glad to help with whatever.

The food is quite good for buffet. Includes fresh chilled Boston lobster halves, large in shell prawns, oysters, and smallish spider crab legs/bodies. Other food was also good though not equal to the better cook to order which is expected of buffets. One drawback, common to all buffets, is that the food is not very hot, only warm. So by the time one is half finished eating a dish it is already on the cold side. There is included hot tea and coffee, and ice lemon tea and peach tea, both not that good though.

Two exceptions to above was the laksa and the fish maw soup, being almost made to order, was hot and tasty. The fish maw soup was especially good- equal to or better than any ala carte fine Chinese restaurant. The dim sum, however, is very mediocre.

What seems to set this buffet apart is that the price, though seems expensive, includes drinks, including wine, etc. There are different grades of pricing, depending on what one wishes to drink, and is free flow.

The cost, IF you have enrolled in some hotel/dining privilege program, is super value. The four of us, having sparkling water, tea, 2 glasses of wine, 2 cocktails, ended with a total bill of less than SGD40 per person.
