“Archaic place and unusual layout”
Review of Gajah Mada Plaza

This plaza might seems smaller that it really is, thanks to unusual layout which might lead you to miss some of their sidelines stores. The atmosphere is just average and rather mediocre. Seems that this plaza used to be a more vibrant place in the past, nowadays there's a lot of gemstone stores here.

They have Maxx Coffee (which is a major plus!), but the general atmosphere is dated. However the people here are a lot more friendly than newer mall and plaza, so its kind of a plus side

The plaza itself is dated. Gloomy and dull. What I like about this place is there's many petshops here. You can find anything related to pets from pet food, pet clothing, pet shampoo, etc including the pet itself. If u r going to adopt a pet u must check very carefully whether ur pet is in good condition or not. Some of the pets look unhealthy. Compare prices from shop to shop is a must but I found Joe pet shop is the cheapest for pet supplies. Parking sucks too small.

We didn't do any shopping in this Plaza, but we have tried the Xanadu Reflexology on the 3a floor in two occasion, massage was excellent. Altough the second time they have asked for extra 10%, which was a little bit confusing...anyway it was still cheap and we were happy with the service.
Ate at the little Sushi place on the ground level and in another restaurant at the basement at the far back with seating area. The lady was so sweet she explained everything all about her food and the chicken with curry and pumpkin soup were absolutely delicious.
Also tried Pizza Hut as well, it was very good as Pizza Huts always.

Gajah Mada Plaza is the second oldest mall in Jakarta I think...after Sarinah. It's conservative. It is famous for its big pet shop with varieties of pets. Especially puppies. It has Hypermart on lower ground. And Bakmi Gajah Mada and Richesse on Ground level and level 3. Try it. And also massage center on 4th level. Near dcost seafood restaurant.
