The Interconti here has become a... - AYANA Midplaza JAKARTA

I recently stayed at the InterContinental in Jakarta with my family and we were very impressed. The hotel had immaculate facilities and the staff were accommodating and friendly. Our room included free breakfast for two people at the buffet. The food was lovely with a large variety. It is a very safe hotel with lots of security on all entrances. Our room was clean and the bed was massive! The restaurant staff were very friendly but were a little pushy as you could tell they wanted us to stay at the hotel for longer. It was in a great location and it was easy to access the shops in the MidPlaza. The salon does not wash hair which we thought was a little strange but there is a hair salon in the MidPlaza that was very good.

The hotel is very modern and well maintained. Perfectly situated in the centre of Jakarta, very close to one of Jakarta's biggest shopping centre Grand Indonesia. Our room was great with amazing bed and clean and spacious bathroom. Swimming pool was great and usually quiet. Breakfast was amazing. The only complain we had was that drinks were a little bit overpriced even for a luxurious hotel in Jakarta. But as overall experience, we had a great stay at Intercontinental Jakarta.

I was fortunate enough to stay in this fine hotel recently. Unbeknownst to me,my sister had told them that I would be staying there during my birthday and they took a lot of effort to make it very special, for which I am very grateful. Aside from this and taking a neutral view, I think it is a great place to stay. In a manic city like Jakarta you need somewhere comfortable to rest and this hotel certainly provides that. I really like the location- a very central position which means it is easy to get all over the city and there is always a Silverbird taxi waiting to take you where you need to go. A short walk will take you to the City Walk Sudirman mall which has lots of restaurants / Starbucks / a nice Japanese supermarket. The rooms are what I would call 'classic Intercontinental ' style -not that exciting design wise but so comfortable with everything you need and kept very well cleaned and maintained. The TV showed European football ( which was good as I stayed up late with jet lag) and the wifi was fast. All the staff members I encountered were very friendly and efficient. Having forgotten my swimming trunks, I never made it down to the pool but it looked particularly nice. I would not hesitate to make this my first choice on another visit to this exciting city.
