Lunch starts at 11am and is easier to score seats compared to dinner. The roast duck is passable but I feel it is expensive. $128 for a half duck only yields a small plate of skin and meat. Pass over ordering this and try the roast duck at other more famous duck restaurants. Instead order the the shrimp with honey sauce, big portion and delicious.

By far one of the best restaurant of Beijing, a delicious Duck cooked at the perfection, prepared at your table and fantastic mixed dishes and riz wine, it make me going two days in a row to this fantastic place. Definitely a great experience and one of the best duck ever for me...

We didn't make a reservation, but we went there early at 5pm for dinner. We have no problem getting a table at that time, but were surprise that it is already half full. We chose Siji Minfu because of the positive reviews; we weren't let down. Since there are only two of us, we ordered half duck. It was perfectly roast. In fact I have yet to find one that wasn't. It has an aroma that other places don't have. The presentation of the duck was good. The service was good and friendly. The only comment is English is a little bit of a challenge to communicate, but they make up by adding pictures in their menu. When we left shortly after 6pm, outside was packed with people waiting.

compared to other stuffier duck houses in beijing this place is just as good (we were told by other travelers) and 50% the price. excellent service, tableside carving, friendly english speaking staff (more or less), whole duck, appetizer, 2 rounds of drinks for under $50 is quite a deal...we ate there 2x in 5 nights.

I've tried them all. Quanjude, Duck de Chine, Made in China, Da Dong. They are all delicious, but this one is definitely one of my favorite.

The restaurant still has a human touch, for it's not too large. You don't feel part of a process, like with some others.

But the main point of interest is the duck. I've eaten Peking duck for more than 15 years, and I still remember the very first time. The revelation in the original Da Dong. The taste and the craving when there is nothing left to eat.

Siji Minfu had this very same vibe, this incredible feeling I had been looking for ever since.

So book a table (unless you like to wait outside for your number to be called) and ready yourself for a trip to delight.
