Our group of 16 arrived at this is amazing hotel after a long international flight and we were immediately impressed with both the quality of the hotel and the efficient check-in process for our large group. I have travelled to many destinations and have stayed in countless hotels. Our group's stay at the Peninsula in Beijing was one of the best experiences. We were impressed by the level of luxury in our room, the personalized touches (personalized welcome sign written in chocolate), the technological features across the hotel, top of the line customer service, the quality of the linens, toiletries, space, and more. The hotel's proximity to everything you need -- shopping, authentic restaurants, transportation, tourist sites -- was ideal.

As a side note: it validates your appreciation for the hotel when you bump into the president of Panama.

I also want to give a special shout out to Gorka Zubiete for his outstanding customer service and for going the extra mile to provide our group with an incredible time in Beijing.

This is by far the best hotel I have stayed at in Beijing. Staff well versed in English, friendly, and very attentive to your needs. I really appreciated the in room check in. Anna was exceptional as our official greeter. Cheery and professional. The rooms are immaculate and well thought out. I originally thought the ipad type controllers would be gimmicky but I quickly learned that they were well thought out and quite practical. I especially liked the light dimmers on the controller. Even though we didn't need it for this trip, the valet box in the dressing room is a brilliant idea. The rooms also seem to be quite sound insulated as we heard almost no sounds of life from outside the room . Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here on my next trip to Beijing or any other city with a Peninsula hotel.

We spent four nights in the Beijing Suite, which is larger than most NYC apartments and includes a theater room. The rooms are luxurious, modern, clean and large. Service is excellent - prompt, professional and unobtrusive. Location is perfect on Wangfujing Road (Beijing's 5th Ave) and walking distance to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Only complaint is that the breakfast buffet is good, but not the high caliber typical of five star hotels in Asia. Nevertheless, a great place to stay in Beijing.

We just spent 4 days in Beijing, and had the most amazing time. Our suites at the Peninsula were spacious, clean, gorgeous, and filled with every modern amenity. The breakfast buffet is fantastic--they have an excellent pastry chef, and they make their own cured meats. Don't miss out on their yogurt, so good! And the swimming pool is gorgeous and so relaxing.

Best of all is the amazing concierge team. They arranged 3 days of touring for us with Mr. Tsao as our driver and John Zhang as our tour guide. We can't say enough about how much fun we had with those two gentlemen, and all of the amazing things we saw and did. But beyond that, the concierge team is just wonderful all around, especially Leigh Li. She made sure we were personally taken care of, she tended to every detail. When a sand storm blew in and we wanted to go out, she wouldn't let us leave until she got us into filtered face masks. We wanted good Sichuan food, so she walked us to a wonderful restaurant across the street and helped us order. I fell in love with Huang Fei Hong peanuts from the mini bar, so she called around to see where I could buy some to take home (the liquor store across the street had them!). Staying at this hotel made our Beijing visit extra special.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are suites. I can't imagine you'd go wrong with any of them.

I booked my stay through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. At check-in there was a small line at the counter, so instead an agent sat us down in the lobby cafe and processed our check-in so that we would not have to wait in line. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a suite, which was quite a treat.

Breakfasts consists of many Chinese, American, and European options. The quality and variety of the food was top notch (especially the imported cheeses). For lunch we ate at the cantonese Huang Ting restaurant. We ordered the 8-item course for a single person, which was more than enough for one. Overall we were quite satisfied with the variety and quality.

I would definitely stay here again.
