This was the real standout of the three Basecamp camps (Maasai Mara, Eagle View, Wilderness) for us. We had a perfect stay there with our beautiful, private & simple tent and friendly, helpful service. You really feel like you are in the wilderness, but with comforts like flushing toilets, hot shower, white tablecloths and amazingly comfortable beds. The tents and dining areas are decorated in an understated, but lovely way. Evenings around the fire with the Maasai staff singing and telling stories were wonderful, genuine experiences that we will remember forever. There are only five tents, so it really feels like an amazing, exclusive experience. There is plenty of wildlife to watch and a few days before we arrived they even saw a lion kill (from a distance). Walking safaris and night safaris were awesome experiences as well. Definitely stay here!!
Our guide was Manfred who was super knowledgeable and exceptionally good at 4WDing (which came in handy as we had a lot of rain). He was just OK at spotting animals and wasn't always very communicative, but overall was good. He was also extremely patient at looking everywhere for leopards which we really wanted to see, although weren't lucky this trip.
