We stayed at Rekero in October 2019, it was a dream come true. The pictures do not do it justice, the views and experience are amazing ! The staff at Rekero can’t do enough for you, they went above and behind to make this dream trip a reality . We are a large group ranging from 6-69, all of us can’t say enough about the experience. We all enjoyed every minute of our time and didn’t want to leave. The food was top notch, they accommodated food allergies and made everything extremely tasty. If I could I would point out the staff members that made an impression, but that would be to hard as they all did an amazing job during our stay. Francis and Benjamin are amazing Masai. Without a doubt I would love to return to Rekero. Thank you for such an unbelievable experience, no words can express how amazing our trip was.

From the staff, to the accommodations, to the food quality, the guides - in every detail we were cared for. We arrived here from the sister Asilia camp in the Mara North. We loved the location in the middle of the park/reserve. The tents were light on the land but well appointed w a front sitting room and day bed, the bedroom and a large bathroom (w great hot water). Ours was tent 4 which looked out over the creek (and the hippos) - highly recommend. We loved hearing the animals around us through the night (including the buffalo, hippos, lions and even seeing the leopard footprints right outside of our tent). Our “guard”, Isaac, was delightful in guiding us back and forth to the main tent and sharing little stories w us.

We started each day early (6am) w coffee and tea delivered to our tent as a wake up call, then headed out by 6:30 to observe the amazing bush then delighted w a full breakfast set up each morning. Our Maasai guide, Lenkoko, was so knowledgeable and wise as he guided us through the plains and helped us find and learn about the wildlife we came across.

With Lenkoko’s guidance, we found so many lions (including adorable lion cubs), watched a leopard mother and her two cubs for 30-45 minutes one evening, witnessed a lioness stalked and her live kill of a wildebeest, found the beautiful melanistic zebra “Tira” - we saw so much more than we ever thought possible and Lenkoko was so generous w his time often turning our morning ride into a early afternoon return :)

Every meal was so well prepared and so healthy.

A few extras were the beautiful and comfy main tent and deck looking out onto the Talek River w hippos, crocs and even a zebra crossing and the occasional lion kill. The staff prepared a fire pit for us one evening in the cool evening.

Every detail is covered from the hot water bottles placed in your bed as you arrive back each evening, a special WiFi tent that let you connect but not constantly, hosts that joined our meals to provide more stories and detail of this country and place and helped us feel so at hone.

Having stayed at these two Asilia camps on this trip (and traveling w my brother who had stayed at seven other properties over 4 different safaris,), it is obvious the culture of Asilia permeates everyone on staff.

My ONLY suggestion is to offer a few more wine options for meals.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for an amazing adventure.

We recently finished a three night stay at Rekero camp. We had an amazing time. The camp is rustic but beautiful. The property is lush and green and the location on the river made for fun viewing of hippos from the main deck. We loved the animals roaming through camp at night. Our guide Lomcoco made the trip very special for us - he is knowledgeable and fun and will work hard to make sure you have whatever experience you are looking for. The food is also quite good and Ian and Cass are wonderful hosts. Overall staying at Rekero was like being with family. I highly recommend this camp.

Outstanding food, service and game viewing! You won't be disappointed. Accommodations are superb and the food is amazing. We saw tons of lion. The land cruisers are very comfortable and they even have a refrigerated ice chest on them ;)

We just completed a 3 day family Safari at Rekero, and it could not have been better or more enjoyable. This was my 12th Safari over the past 10 years, all of which have been excellent. But, our recent experience at Rekero was the best of the bunch. From the facilities to meals to staff to game viewing, Rekero was fantastic on all counts. The culture of service excellence extended from the camp managers to the guides to the entire staff. The game viewing was the best ever, thanks largely to the incredible expertise of our guide, Lenkoko. Add to that the fabulous meals, great camp amenities & outstanding service, and I can assure you that you cannot miss with this camp as your Safari choice!
