This is a pretty large camp, and is located right outside the wild life. Just a river separate it from the savannah. You can see the animals on a distance from the reataurant. Nice looking restaurants with good food. The tents are nice with all the facilities you need. A comfortable bed and and a nice bathroom with a shower. We were reminded on the fact that the wild life was just outside the camp by the animalnoices in the night. One night we were awakened by the the baboons screaming as they defended themselves against a predator. Fascinating! Woke up with beautiful birds chirping. We also visited the nearest village. The people were very hospitable and we got to see the children dancing. I also recommend you to visit a traditional masai village where you will be shown their culture and how they live. The service was very good as it was in all three camps we visited (Wilderness Camp and Eagleview). I recommend you start with Basecamp, and then visit Wilderness and Eagleview like we did. Three different camps with different experiences. We had a very good guide in Big Moses, and learned a lot! Thank you for five exciting days we never will forget! Go with Basecamp Explorer!

Magical and amazing are words that describe what is Basecamp in Masai Mara. This is a Safari experience how it should be done, simple yet confortable and incredible service. The camps, the service of the staff, the work they do to impact the local community, the sustainability of this idea is just everything right. Would definitely come back.

The best family holidays ever.

My husband and myself travelled with our little ones (3 yr old and 7 yr old). Beyound words ..for the care and hospitality...The best camp to stay with younger ones.

BaseCamp Team really take care of the fact that my kid is allergic to diary and made sure that every meal for the 3 nights we spend there ,seperate kids meal is prepared for him.

Even when we checkedout in the morning they really stunned us by packing delicious lunch for us to have on the way back to Nairobi.

Special thanks to the staffs especially the restaurant team (The Chef, Tim, Emos, Johnson, Kean etc..).

The camp is really close to the nature, in all the possible ways.

Base Camp is beyond amazing: the staff, the food, the tents, you name it.

A big 5 for all the efforts and service.

Room Tip: Obama tent for best view & balcony. Family tents for having two adjacent connected rooms with se...

Maasai Mara delivered big time and so did Basecamp.

We have been to a number of these camps all over east-africa and a lot of these camps come up with rediculous posh gadgets you don't need in order to clean you out for more money than what you want to part with.

Basecamp delivers exactly what you need and expect to get and do so with flying colours. We loved every minute of it. 2 nights spent in Basecamp and one night in Eagle view was perfect.

Thank you to the staff for all kindness and service and we will definately be back for more !!!

Located next to the Maasai Mara Nat'l Park Basecamp provides a better than expected spot among the many local animals with such friendly Maasai guides, guards, staff I stay impressed. The tents were better than expected. Loved the outdoor private showers. Food was delicious and more than plentiful. Shade from the 'forest' enhanced by planting kept the hot days comfortable. Service to the Maasai extends by providing a site to visit where Maasai women make and sell items utilizing recycled products for their own benefit. What a bonus. Be ready to shop. Saw all the animals and birds I had hoped for and so much more. 2 safari rides a day provided different sites each day. The travel support provided by their staff with airport transfers, etc made the entire trip easy.
